Dalton was not only a fair-minded and greatly respected mediator, he was a wonderful mentor to the lawyers and staff in our office. We will all miss his humour, his compassion, his profound insights and his keen sense of collegiality. Wishing his family and his beloved, Pierrette, peace and solace with fond memories of a life well-lived.

I was very sad to hear of Dalton's passing. I had the pleasure of many fascinating conversations over the past few years in meditations. He is truly a loss and my condolences to his family

Although it's been a long time since we last saw Dalton and Pierrette, we have many fond memories of times we spent together back in the 50's and 60's. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I met Dalt during his last trial before he started mediating full-time. Thereafter, I mediated with him on a number of occassions.
He always asked about my family and to see new pictures of my kids. He also proudly showed me pictures of his grandchildren.
I truly looked forward to seeing him at the mediations. He was respectful and fair as a mediator, as well as very good company.

There was no better mentor for a young lawyer seeking to find his/her way in the legal profession. Forever grateful for his reassuring words in moments of doubt.

A sad time for the legal community and all who knew him.
I first met Dalton when he judged my moot court, when I was in my first year of law school. He made a nerve-wracking experience bearable.
Dalton was a gentle giant who always looked for creative ways to solve contentious issues. I will miss him.

Deepest sympathy to family and friends of a truly fine and refined exemplum of graciousness and civility. We will miss Dalton especially at our early morning weekend golf games where his wry humour and jovial self deprecation brightened every day.

A sad loss. Dalton was a true gentleman. Any lawyer who had the privilege of working with or against him took a lesson from a master in professionalism, integrity and civility. I was honoured to know him.
