Dana Carlson

Dana Ra'chel Carlson (Leher), age 56, passed away on May 26, 2025, in Mayflower, Arkansas. Born on January 19, 1969, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Dana lived a life marked by resilience, generosity, and deep love for both people and nature.

From an early age, Dana displayed a remarkable connection to the outdoors. She began fishing as soon as she could hold a rod and quickly earned a reputation for out-fishing even seasoned anglers. Whether it was trout in mountain streams or bass and catfish in quiet lakes and rivers, Dana found joy and peace near the water. Her love of nature extended to gardening-both flowers and vegetables flourished under her care. Even when space was limited, she managed to grow her own produce with a green thumb that seemed almost magical.

Dana's compassion knew no bounds. She had an open heart for all living beings-human or animal-and was always ready to share whatever she had. Stray animals often found refuge with her, and those who crossed her path during difficult times could count on her kindness and generosity.

Her strength of spirit was equally remarkable. Dana endured many challenges throughout her life with unwavering determination. She possessed a rare ability to survive-and even thrive-under circumstances that would have overwhelmed others.

Though life's circumstances sometimes created distance, Dana held her family close in her heart. She often spoke of cherished memories with vivid clarity and warmth. Her love for them remained constant and deep.

Dana is survived by her daughter Lindy Lee Carlson (Pearson), son Logan William Carlson, granddaughter Willow Rose Pearson, and grandson Hudson Lynn Pearson. She is also survived by her sister Michele R. Dodson (Stuart-Leher) (Skip Dodson) and brother Jason C. Leher (Charlotte Leher) nieces Julia Leher and Gabriella Leher and other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Maurice Stuart Leher Jones (Dering), father Nathan Keirn Leher, brothers James Dean Stuart Leher and N. Keirn Leher II.

Dana's faith in Jesus was a guiding light throughout struggles in life. Even when many of her prayers went unanswered in this world, she held firmly to the belief that peace awaited her beyond it.
