Dane Andersen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 19, 2022.
Dane Russell Andersen, cherished son, brother and friend, passed away on December 18, 2022. He was born on July, 23, 1997 in Austin, Texas and leaves behind his parents Russell and Sileide Andersen. He was preceded in death by his brother TJ, who tragically died in 2020.

Dane lived fast and furiously in his 25 years. He was an inquisitive, adventurous child who loved doing crazy BMX tricks with his beloved brother. He loved dogs, fishing and camping with his family. As an adult, he was an enterprising man of immense physical strength and determination, with limitless potential. Sadly, life events and depression issues lead him down a path to where he couldn't see that potential himself.

To my son,

Someday when the pages of my life end

I know that you will be one of the most beautiful chapters

Always keep me in your heart

For you are always in mine

Nothing, and nobody, not even time will ever change that

While he will be missed by his family and friends, all that loved him know that he is finally at peace. We find comfort in his final gift, which was to leave his organs to others so that they may benefit from his strength, his heart and his determination.

Dear Russell and Family,

My heart aches for you as I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing Dane's story and it leaves me wishing I had met him in person. The pain of mental health is palpable in so many of our lives and your courage to share Dane's story and a request for donations and awareness is a wonderful legacy and truly honors his life.

Dane spoke a quote that stuck with me and changed how I viewed life. This quote was "Would you rather live one week as a lion or 14 days as a sheep". Dane was a lion, he was strong, loving and heavily motivated. The lion is the king of the jungle, and now he is freed with his brother in paradise. You will be missed brother, I love you.

We had a lot of fun out on the lake for Fosters birthday and Dane tried to teach me to backflip off the pier but I was too scared I would hit my head!
