My deepest sympathies to the family of Dee Dee. I met her a few years ago at First UM Church. She was so full of life and such fun to chat with. To watch her grow in her faith and become a member of the church family was such a personal blessing to me. I know she is up in heaven smiling down on us all. She is pain free and living the life we all dream of some day. We loved her dearly and will miss her very much. May God's comfort cover you all, and may you smile often remembering the best of times with this amazing woman.

To the entire DeAugustine family...I am so saddened to hear of Danean's passing. My heart, prayers and thoughts have been with all of you...especially these past few weeks as you have endured so much. May you find strength during these difficult times, and cherish the many memories you have made. I will always fondly cherish our memories of growing up together, and all the laughs we had together when we were kids. My deepest sympathy to you all. I will pray for the souls of Danean and Nancy, and for all of you and your families. Thinking of you. Love, Christa Petrone

Dear DeAugustine Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of the tremendous loss which you have experienced in such a short time.
Danean and I started our friendship at St. Philip School; and, when we would see each other over the years, it was as if those years and wonderful memories were yesterday.
This past fall, I was making a quick trip to Giant Eagle. I hadn't seen Danean for a while; and, as we all so often are, I was in a hurry. When I spotted Danean in the other check out line, I made it a point to get into the "longer line" with her so I could ask her how she was doing and to give us the chance to talk and to "catch up."
My expected 5 minute trip to the store turned into a 45 minute "walk down memory lane." Danean and I laughed as we shared our childhood memories.
Additionally, Danean shared that she was so happy to have connected with friends at her recent Class Reunion. (Rich and I were unable to attend his Reunion that weekend due to a prior engagement).
Danean was proud of her strength as she fought her battle; and, was able to share this courage to inspire others.
Hearing of this very sad news, I will cherish the opportunity that we had to take that final "Walk" together.
With loving thoughts,
Sharon (Rusnak) Gaitens

Our sincere condolences to Danean's family and friends. All of us at InVision Human Services mourn with you. Dee Dee supported a young man whom InVision serves in our residential program. As one of her co-workers said last week, "Dee Dee was always a ray of light, strength, and hope when you saw her. We will miss Dee Dee's dedication to her craft, her indomitable spirit, the love she had for serving the needs of others. May we all seek to incorporate even a portion of her passion into our work and into our lives.

Dear Frank, Frankie, Nicole, and Chrissie,
My memories of your dear Danean will always include Nicole, Sherry, Kathy, occasionally Chrissie, and "Barbies" on our back porch. The Barbies were used as sort of super heroes instead of fashionistas. Lots of attacks, car chases, and crime solving. Good friendships and lots of fun.
Frank, no parent should endure such pain. Words can't begin to express enough sorrow about your heartbreaking loss. The most comforting words we heard when my husband lost his son were from a cousin who had lost her own child, and I hope they will be as true for you as they have been for us: "After a while, the balance tips and you mourn less that she died and rejoice more that she lived."
God bless you all.
Love and prayers,
Linda (Smith) Cross

Oh DeeDee, the earth is sorrowful that you are no longer with us...you were the kind of person we all hope to be,...loving. kind, caring and most generous with your love...especially for those suffering and in need of tender help. I can only hope that you were greeted by all those you cared for during their last moments on this earth.I pray that you were at peace, and may God be with you in your spiritual life now. To the DeAugustine Family:I am so sorry for your loss. First with Nancy and now Dee. At one time, Dee and I were very close and shared some fantastic memories when I went to Pittsburgh to visit and when she came to Indiana a couple of times. I'm heartbroken that she is gone with the only comfort that she is no longer in pain. She will forever be remembered fondly by me and I will miss her dearly.
