Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Bader Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one, Daniel A. Bader US Army Staff Sergeant. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

I wear Daniel's hero bracelet every day. On May 19th, I will depart LA and travel with 400+ other bikers to DC to honor and heal veterans past and present with Run for the Wall (rftw.org). It is my great honor to wear this bracelet of a fallen hero.

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Over 1,800 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have some wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and only want you know that we care.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,

I am so so very sorry to hear that he has passed. i was just looking up old classmates of mine( I graduated 1 year earlier than Dan. I can honestly say Dan was one of the good guys. I just came upon this site and can't let it be clicked off without a few words. I am Dan's aunt (his mother is my sister). As a member of the family who was so deeply affected at the time of Dan's death, arrival back home, services, burial in his home state (which I live within 50 mi from the cemetery and his grave) and the following years, we know in our hearts that Dan served his country with honor and we have deep pride in this. We cherish the memory of Dan.

Tiffany,
I am deeply saddened to hear that Dan was lost in our war. I graduated with Dan, didn't know him very well but he was always joking and friendly with everyone. May you find some peace in his memory and the time you had together. God Bless your family.

In Memory of Daniel ~ (Debra Estep)

November 2, 2008

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Daniel, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Dear Bader Family,
I had the honor of knowing Dan during high school. Both Dan, David, and I played sports together and I have great memories of Dan and I competing for the 152lb spot on the wrestling team.

I served in the military and am now teaching fifth grade. I want you to know that I read the article written in the Gazette about Dan's service and sacrifice to our country to my students every year on September 11th. I want you to know that his memory lives on.

I will be running the Marine Corps Marathon this year on October 28th in his memory.

Dear Bader Family,

I remember very good times with Dan and his brother David, circling around the block, playing cops and robbers, soccer with Dans dad, gazing at the fish aquariums, the little tree that was planted out front, the move to CO Springs and the friendly goodbyes, I have often thought of Dan and his family over the years and all the childhood memories, I was very sad when I heard of Dans death, I still think about him often and the selfless sacrifice that he made, he will always be remembered and please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers..........

God Bless You,

Tiffany,
You and I have never spoken, but Dan and I served together in Ft. Lewis, WA. I told him on many occasions that he was the brother I never had. Dan was and remains the best friend I've ever had. I carry a huge regret for losing touch with him over the years. I am so very sorry for your loss. The world is a worse place for losing a person like Dan. I would love to be able to pay my last respects. Please contact me if you can.

Dan is what made this war real to me. He was a kid I watched grow to become a man. I saw his character on the field and in the class room. His family should be proud of his dedication to his country as well as his dedication to his family name. His dedication to his family was introduced to me in high school. My little brother was sent to Iraq shortly after Dan moved on, also 3rd ACR. My fear was great, but I knew if he were to make the ultimate sacrifice, I was only hoping he would make the same impact as Dan did. Thank you , Dan. God Bless!

Tiffany and little Ms. Bader,

I went to high school with Dan. I remember after his junior year seeing him in Class As at school and thinking, he is so proud. Dan loved the Army. His brother joined too. Dan was the 1st Soldier I knew to die over here. He was a great friend in high School. Before football practice, witing for the coaches he would make fun of my car, he would get a loud vaoice and say"Big blue Battle Ship" and for some reason I alwys laughed. Although it has been 10 years since I saw him, it feels like yesterday we wrestled each other on the mat for fun, Dan whooped my but and I had him by 60 pounds or so. Dan was fast though, wheather on the field, mat, or with a come back. Dan will be greatly missed. Tiffany I am sorry for your loss 2 years ago.
