Daniel Adams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 4, 2025.
Daniel "Dan" Adams, 72, of Exton, PA, parted this life on March 30, 2025 to join his beloved wife Mary Ann, of 46 years.

Born on May 28, 1952, in Woodbury, NJ, to David and Eleanor Adams of Woodbury, Dan was the youngest of 6 siblings. He was a loving Husband, Dad, Pops, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.

Dan graduated from Malvern Prep and went on to attend Villanova University (Class of 1976) and earned his Masters degree from the Wharton School (Class of 2002). He spent the beginning of his professional career in the utility industry while also being a dedicated Navy Reservist. He spoke fondly about his time with the Navy as he felt a sense of duty in serving his country. It was in the Navy where he found his love and honed his skill for photography. He carried his camera with him everywhere; beach days, nights on the boardwalk in Ocean City, and vacations to Martha's Vineyard. Another passion of Dan's was baking. He was a master baker of his famous cinnamon raisin bread, a holiday tradition beloved by all.

A devoted Eagles, Phillies and Villanova Wildcats fan, Dan always enjoyed watching the game with family and friends. He also developed a vast knowledge of all things single malt scotch. His scotch bible was thoroughly marked up with notes of the date he tried a new single malt, what the occasion was, and who he enjoyed it with.

One of his favorite roles in life was becoming "Pops." Always ready, camera in hand, to document his grandkids, whether playing soccer, enjoying a meal or capturing candid moments.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ann Adams (Daly), parents, Eleanor (Schultes) and David Adams. He leaves behind three children, Matthew, Anne (Adams) Meads, and Kathleen Adams; daughter in law Jennifer Adams and son in law Andrew Meads; five grandchildren, Mae and Avett Meads and Emma, Bridget, and Julia Adams; his siblings David Jr, Donald, and Douglas Adams and sisters Connie Wasniewski, Mary Hopkins, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Marsh Creek Community Church, 101 Crump Road, Exton, PA on Friday, May 2 at 10:00 am.

To the family of Dan and Maryann Adams, please accept mine and my wife Nancy's condolences and deepest sympathy for the loss of your parents, grandparents, aunt, uncle and sibling. I worked with Dan in Atlantic County as part of the workforce development services the county provides. Dan was always passionate about the work he did and the services he was responsible for. More importantly to me and my wife was the friendship that he and Maryann had with us. Dan and Maryann were wonderful dinner partners and friends while they lived in south jersey. On numerous occasions we would go to dinner and spend a wonderful evening discussing everything under the sun. I will miss both his and Maryann's laugh.

Most importantly for me personally, Dan was my confidant and sounding board when I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in late 2023. He was an experienced voice that helped me manage my illness and treatment. I will be forever grateful for his support and counsel.

We were saddened to hear of Maryann's passing. I spoke with Dan shortly after that in February. He told me he missed her terribly.
Dan was a wonderful colleague and a good friend. Nancy and I will miss him.

Please accept our condolences. Dan and Maryann and their family members, are in our prayers.

To the MaryAnn and Dan Adams Family, I offer my deepest sympathies for your loss. Dan and I worked together at the Atlantic County One Stop Career Center in Pleasantville, NJ. Dan was my supervisor. We quickly developed a very close rapport spending many an hour happily chatting, sharing thoughts, and experiences outside the realm of our shared employment. I articulated to him on many occasions that I was proud to be on his staff at the One Stop. Dan was a fair, warm, and intelligent man for whom I was fortunate to call a friend, along with respecting him as my supervisor.

May both MaryAnn and Dan´s Holy Souls be at Eternal Rest, Eternal Peace, together guiding, loving, and smiling upon the bereaved family.

I am so sorry for your loss...
