Daniel Paul Buckley Jr.

There are those rare people, who when you are with them it feels like time has paused. Dan (aka: Tootsie Roll Man) was one of those people.
When in conversation with him he was truly engaged with you and you always felt like you were important to him-whether it a serious topic or witty banter. When the conversation was banter, you were always blessed with his twinkly eyes and wonderful laugh-his joyful soul always bubbling away.
Dan was always willing to answer questions about cars (right down to which washer fluid was best), and so incredibly patient explaining all things computers.
Watching him interact with Chris and "his girls" was a gift, for you saw true love and kindness in action.
In the brief time that I knew him, Dan was a pinnacle example of what I interpret to be a "good human". My life is better for having known him, and there is a deep sadness knowing our paths will never cross again. July 1st shall forevermore remain "Danada Day" in my heart!

Chris, Paul, Meg, Amy, Kevin, Ella and Anna-please accept my deepest condolences. My wish for you all is that thoughts of Dan will soon bring fond smiles instead of tears.

We met Dan and Chris through Chris and Dave. Their friendship started on a cruise has lasted many years. When They came to visit their Canadian family and we went to a car show, Dan shared so much information and knowledge with us.
He and Chris have treated our family as their family. Dan will be missed by all of us. Hoping he and Dave get to hang out together and enjoy each others company, jokes and pranks on the other side.

I'm so sorry for your loss my condolences to his family and prayers at this time. He always has a wonderful smile and fun to be around Danny.

I worked with Dan at EMC from 2000 until he retired. When I found out about him passing I talked with some of the other people and found a common theme. Everyone had at least on funny story and all were smiling when the told them to me. There's an old saying that when people mention your name after you're gone, that you're still here. I think that if someone smiles during that mention, your still here and you made a difference. Dan was that kind of guy. As sad as it is thinking of his passing, I'm smiling as I write. Because that's kind of guy he was and I'm sure he's happy that he can still make us smile.

Dan once asked me, then I was an industry leading IT super star, what he should do if he wanted in on the growing field of IT. Dan told me he had years of automotive mechanical expertise. I later experienced his automotive prowess many times over the years. I told Dan he should look into Microsoft Systems Engineering Training as his ability to work on cars was similar to building pcs and servers. Dan, listened then excelled, creating for himself and his family an impressive career that spanned a decade plus at the very top of his profession and industry. His passion drove him to work on some the worlds most impressive data center servers-significantly outpacing my server skills mind you by a long shot. Dan was a great friend and mentor, and in my observations one of the very best husbands, father, grandfather, uncle I have ever met. Deepest condolences to the Buckley Clan.

Uncle Danny was one of the most heartfelt people with such a kind soul that could put a smile on anyone´s face in any circumstance. I am so proud to call him my Uncle and know that his jolly spirt will live on forever. I have no doubt that he is on the Norwegian Gem right now at the Casino with Nana and Papa waving to us from up above.

I will never forget the many family party´s we laughed at, the cruises we traveled on together, and the many game shows that we won together as a family ( in Spinnaker and Bliss lounge ).

I promise to carry the Daniel name on with pride and honor <3
