I worked with Dr. Caruso in the burn ICU. I had a lot of admiration for him. I knew he was a wholesome, & brilliant physician. My condolences.

Dr. Caruso took care of my 14 year old son after he suffered full thickness burns from falling in a fire pit last May. He will forever be in our hearts. Upon meeting him for the very first time we knew we were in the best hands, he was unbelievably knowledgeable, honest and compassionate. We are so sorry to hear of his passing but will be forever grateful we met him.

Tonight is the Eve of what would have been your 54th birthday. I wish you Happy Birthday to you. My Dear Old friend co-worker and Boss. Tonight I wish to share my feelings about your wonder life. I got to know you as a Resident at Maricopa Medical Center.
Like a Star in the Darkest of night you stood out from the other Resident. Over time your grew into the Sun of this Earth. Your Being here on this Earth has positively impacted so many people in ways you never knew. Why because you were so humble about who you were. You made such a impact on my life and career as a Friend and Boss. You always supported what I had to say with patient care and just life in general. I have always believed that God sent you here to be the healer of his people. Many nights and days in the Trauma room or Arizona Burn Center
When you where on call. Very bad things happen to people and you where there to Treat them and save their lives. Over and over. Many others just like I knew because you were the on call Surgeon you saved their lives. You ability was amazing to saves lives which otherwise would have been lost. I was so proud too have witness this so many times over the years.
I thank you for letting me be part of your Team at the Arizona Burn Center. Thank you for becoming one of my Dearest Friend a person could ever have. I know many co workers feel the same way.. Dan this Earth loss one of it's Best the day you passed away. And Heaven Gained a New Saint. You will be missed buddy. Till we meet again. Old Friend. Till we meet.

My heart goes out to Dr Caruso family . My prayers are with you all.Dr Caruso treated me for my 2nd and 3rd degree burn . He was a wonderful doctor who had a special way of making his patients feel good even at the worst time .

Dr. Caruso treated me as an outpatient in 2014. What a truly gifted Physician that clearly had talents beyond measure. My condolences to his family, and everybody else he inspired.

Grace and Mike - I am so very sorry that Dan could not beat his illness. Please know that my prayers are with both of you, and Dan's family, that you all find some peace in knowing that he is in a much better place, and that you have friends who share your grief. My deepest sympathies.

This is a huge loss to our Burn Center family I cannot even imagine what it means to The Caruso Family, My Deepest Condolences, love and commitment to Pray for you always. I was one of many to have been personally blessed by the character of this beautiful soul, I will never forget how he defended and rallied for me, it was and is a privilege to have known him I will forever remember and love you Dr. C I will always do my very best to make you proud while being employed at the Arizona Burn Center ❤ Rest easy and see you in paradise Sir.

Dan was one of the chief residents during my general surgery training at MMC. Those were special times with an amazing group of people. Dan was a great role model and leader. He was always positive, humanistic, and fair.

He was not only my "Boss" but a trusted friend. I still think I hear his voice in the hallway. Rest in peace Dr C.

I had the gift of working with Dr. Caruso while at MIHS from 2008-2015. My sister, a police officer, said if she was ever injured in the line of duty to make sure she was taken to MIHS emergency/trauma dept. Why? Because Dr. Daniel Caruso and his great trauma/burn team are there and he and they save cops lives, was her answer. Dr. Caruso was always a calm, kind and cool headed presence amid a busy trauma and burn unit that saved lives daily. I offer my deepest prayers and condolences to his family, and his staff at MIHS. May his legacy live on in the great work his staff will continue to do in treating the patients of MIHS and the Arizona Burn Center with compassion and incomparable skill. -J. Keane

May the many memories Dr. Dan helped create find root in your heart and bring special recollection to your mind as you both mourn and celebrate his meaningful life... and may God be with you as you deal with his passing.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of this wonderful person. I have not seen Dan for many years and he would not remember me. I originally met him in the burn unit at Marciopa Medical Center. I was a vendor. I was very impressed with his humbleness, professionalism, sense of caring and compassion. I could tell that he was going to go far and had the natural ability to be a great leader, mentor for both other physicians and patients as well, and would be loved by all. Prayers to all of the family who loved him so much.
