Lewiston - Daniel Case, 74, of Lewiston, Michigan died on February 6, 2024, at home with his wife, Terrie Case, present. Dan was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 5, 1950. His parents were Norman Case and Alma Pinson.

Dan proudly served his country as a Marine in both the Philippines and Vietnam. He was awarded a purple heart. He married Rose Marie O'Connell on October 23, 1971, in Toledo, Ohio. They were blessed with four children: Suzanne (Brian) Rochowiak, Norman (Caitlin) Case, Kristina (Don) Davis, and Daniel (Mariel) Case, Jr.

On February 2, 2002, Dan married Terrie Conklin Case in Monroe, MI and he became a father figure to Eric LeGendre, Kyle (Melissa) LeGendre, Rickie LeGendre, and Charlene Wandell. Dan was Papa/Grandpa to 14 grandchildren.

Dan was employed by the Monroe Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff's Office for 28 years before his retirement in 2002. He performed many duties, including road patrol, court officer, and being a member of the dive team.

In 2003, Terrie was appointed Montmorency County Prosecutor and they relocated to Lewiston, MI, where they continue to reside during the summer months. They have a home in Sorrento, Florida where they spend the winter months.

Dan loved playing softball, fishing, running, and hanging out with friends when he was not working. After he retired, he spent his time boating on East Twin Lake, snowmobiling, golfing, and traveling.

Dan is survived by his wife, ex-wife, children, grandchildren, a brother, Jack (Sheri) Case and brother-in-laws, Tim (Shelly) Conklin, Tom (Shady) Conklin and Todd (Shannon) Conklin. He was proceeded in death by his parents, a sister, Deborah Hurst and stepfather, Vince Jones.

A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church of Christ in Lewiston, MI on March 2nd at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow. Dan will be interred at the National Cemetery Cape Canaveral in Mims, FL, where he can watch the rocket launches that he so enjoyed.
