Daniel James Christie

Daniel James Christie, age 76, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, January 27, 2023 after a long battle with a rare neurological disease, Multiple System Atrophy- type C (MSA-C).

Dan is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Ruth Christie; his three children, Erin Christie and her partner, Carl Persse, Danielle McDonough and her husband, Sean, and Kyle Christie; his brother, Edward Christie and wife Debra; his sisters, Jayne Schafer and Mary-Jo Christie; his beloved grandson, Evan McDonough; his mother-in-law, Ruth Evans; his sister-in-law, Dori Evans-Ball, his brother-in-law, Thomas Evans and wife Barbara; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Frances Hannah Christie and Edward Nelson Christie Jr; his father-in-law, Thomas R.G. Evans; and his brother-in-laws, Russell Ball and David Schafer.

Dan was a proud Marine Corps Veteran and served his country in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He spent over 30 years working in the wine and spirits industry, most recently as Director of Sales at Allied Beverage Group, before retiring. He was a master of the kitchen and grill, the life of every party, had the most sensational sense of humor and wit, and was the most devoted father, husband and loving family man. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all that had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Time: Anytime between 11:30am and 4:30pm. A short memorial service will be held starting at 12:00pm, followed by light fare and drinks to share our memories and stories about Dan.
