Daniel Michael Cullimore

HILTONIA, Ga. - Daniel Michael Cullimore, age 65, simply known as "Culli" to most, went home to the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, after a short illness. Dan was born in Springfield, Illinois, Feb. 13, 1945, to Charles F. and Margaret J. Cullimore before moving to Jacksonville, Florida, where he spent his youth. At the age of 18, he joined the Air Force, serving in both Japan and Vietnam before receiving an honorable discharge from Warner Robbins AFB (detachment Statesboro) in 1970. After spending seven months in Florida, he returned to Statesboro, where he started working with CATV, which was later purchased by Northland Communications, Seattle, Washington. He was employed there for nearly 40 years. Also a proud "Friend of Bill W."
Preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles Martin; a son, Charles "Martin"; and a granddaughter, Rose Cady Harkins; he is survived by his wife, Rita J. Cullimore; sister, Joy (Todd) Barfield; daughters, Andrea "Andy" (Louie) Waits, Kelly Rae (Steven) Howard; sons, Brett M. Harkins, Shayne E. (Jennifer) Harkins; stepson, Kyle (Casey) Ivey; and grandchildren, Todd, Amber Rae, Trey, Chance, Garrette, Savannah Ann, Peyton, Gage, Jackson and Maddie; several honorary grandchildren and his Northland "family".
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. in the Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Northland Communications.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in his name at Hiltonia Christian Church, 200 Roberts Street, Sylvania, Ga. 30467.
