Daniel DePina Obituary
He was born in Brava, Cape Verde and lived most of his life in New Bedford. He was formerly employed as a Presser Operator for Manley Mfg., until his retirement.
In his leisure time he enjoyed boxing and especially wrestling; but most of all he loved being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; his daughter, Marguerite Baptista and her husband, Marcel of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Celeste, Christopher and Fatima Baptista; a great-granddaughter, Isabella George; three brothers, Alberto DePina, John Gomes and Frank Gomes, all of RI; six sisters, Ines Gonsalves, Anna Pina, Avelina Gonsalves, and Adalicia DeBurgo, all of RI, and Justa Gomes of Cape Verde, Adelina DeBritto of New Bedford; two cousins, Anita Ramos and Virgilio Duarte; a close friend, Ottilia Gomes of FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday 4-8 PM at Rock Funeral Home. His Funeral will be from the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9:15 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church at 10:30 AM. Interment Acushnet Cemetery.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Mr. Depina, he will be very missed, in the summertime every time he was over Maggie's house he always smiled waved and asked how I was doing :( always had a smile on his face! May he rest in peace.
I cant put in words the pain and suffering im in....but most importantly, i know you are not suffering anymore and you are at peace. I LOVE YOU

The loss of someone so close "Nei" is so difficult to bear. We share your grief so hard during the holidays, but our special memories help us to cope. It will be so hard to face the New year without our love one.
