In memory of
Bruce Mc Glothlin
October 5, 2003
I was sorry to learn of the passing of Coach Galbraith. He was a great track coach, a kind and empathetic teacher and a fine gentleman. His track teams at Bethel Park were consistently successful every year. Since we didn't have a track to practice on, we had to run on the roads and hurdle on the grass between the trees. All our meets were away and on a cinder surface. This reflected the terrific instruction by Coach Galbraith and Coach Lodge. The last time I saw Coach Galbraith was at the meeting of all his athletes at the Holiday Inn near South Hills Village. He was still as gracious, positive and kind as he always was.We also used to visit in South Park as I ran by and he and Mrs. Galbraith were taking their daily stroll. It was always great to see him and visit for a few precious moments in reliving old times.Coach Galbraith instilled the love of running in me. I remember the first day of track practice he told me that he had to teach me how to run. I believe he did a pretty good job because I am still running today and love it just as much as that first day of track practice in the spring of 1963. Thanks,Coach! I will miss you!Deepest sympathy to Mrs Galbraith, Rick and Dan.

Dear Betty, Rick and Danny,
I was so sorry to hear that your loving husband and father passed away.
The school and community of Bethel Park is a better place today as a result of the time he spent there.
He always had a positive influence, a ready smile and kind words. He was helpful to me in many ways. I'll remember him in my prayers.

Dear Betty, Rick, and Danny,
As a "green", "wet-behind-the-ears" punk kid in 1962, it was my good fortune to be hired by a school district that had already hired The Bear. His influence and friendship made me a better person and I will be forever grateful. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss and my sincere appology for not being there in person but I must be in Bethel Park on Monday.
Sincerely,
Joe Lodge
