Dan we kicked a lot buts in track and set new records that still stand today. Played football together an enjoyed every moment. Last time I seen you I was refereeing your teams game, don’t remember the out come but had a blast catching up. You’ll be missed fellow Eagle, fly high and be free.

I’ll always remember you and miss you dad #2! Your “Dan goto head shake” will live on forever in my family (probably because I did a lot of stupid things to warrant that head shake). Your kindness, competitive spirit and undeniable love for your family and friends will never be forgotten. Love you, Dan- until we meet again!

So many wonderful memories it’s hard to know where to start. From cheering our girls on from the sidelines of their many school activities to enjoying a night out on the town - Dan always did everything with a smile that lit up the room and also made everyone wonder what he was up to! We will miss your laugh, hugs and the famous “Dan-Goto Head-Shake” he would give us whenever we would arrive late (which was 99% of the time). Thank you for being a mentor to our girls and so many others, thank you for making such a positive impact on so many and making the world a little kinder and a little happier just by being present. You leave legacy of strength, integrity, humor and love. It has been a gift to know you. We will think of you whenever we drink an Arnold Palmer ice tea or drive by a sweet fishing spot. We love you! Cheers to you Goto until we meet again!

Another UNC guy weighing in. What a great friend and man was Dan Goto. We sure had a whole lot of fun in Greeley. Then we coached against each other when he was at Creek and I was at Eaglecrest. Saddened at this news but happy to see the legacy he has left behind with his daughter. What a beautiful, intelligent young woman. Proud to have known Dan Goto.

As mentioned by my UNC college buddies, Danny was our roommate in Greeley. What a character!! Funny, kind, intelligent and athletic, Dan had it all. Hearing this news just breaks my heart. We affectionately called Dan Goto = Otog Nad. He always carried a smile on his face and love in his heart. We relish the times together and deeply mourn his passing. Deepest sympathies to Patty, Allyson and the entire family. Until we meet again my brother.... R.I.P.

Danny was my college roommate and friend for life. I think of him often and we always think we’ll see you soon and do not make the effort to tell those we care and love them enough. I got caught and my heart aches. My man , so many great memories of laughter and mischief.
I will miss you and here’s to the original goat.

I first met Dan when we were kids where we worked at the dog track together for a number of years. We also competed against each other in track at the state meets.
Dan and I lived together in college for a year and he was always happy and a delightful person to be around.
He will be missed, god bless his family during this tough time.

To the Goto family: I am so sorry for your loss. I went to school with Danny. Remember him as being very popular, always smiling. I think he played every sport and excelled at all of them. Always admired him.

When I read the obituary in this morning's paper, my firs t thought was that it had to be a mistake. My heart is broken. Patty's parent's were my wonderful neighbors. I love this family like they are my own. I am deeply sorry for Patty, Allyson and the rest of the family. Bernice Aspinwall

My mother and I are heartbroken over your passing. You were a fixture in our house as you and Marty were growing up. I remember you always had a smile! The world has lost another good man!

My daughter, Kelsi, was a student of Patty Goto in 1st grade. Her dad, Jim Tesone, was a coaching buddy of Dan. Although we haven’t kept in touch, it pains my heart to know he is gone- only from this world but never from our hearts. He was such a great person and Patty will always be in our hearts too. We never met their beautiful daughter but know she must be a special person due to how much we loved her parents. Rest peacefully my friend. We will always keep you in our hearts.

Dear cousin, you were always so kind, funny and non-judgemental. Although we didn't get together as often as we both talked about, I did enjoy our visits. I pray for you still, that you are with your parents and other family in heaven. You'll be missed and always honored. Love, your cousin Kitten Louise

The wise will inherit honor!

By his example, Dan's life shows what it is to be "gift of self" and thus impart wisdom of The Master Teacher, Jesus Christ, to lay down one's life for another.

God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.

In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.

Rest Peacefully Dan. You will be greatly missed by so many people who loved you. Nicco and I always loved our get togethers. Nicco especially enjoyed visiting with you and would always make a point of getting a seat next to you. The gates of heaven opened wide for you to walk through and welcome you. All our love to sweet Patty and lovely Allyson.
