As my prior message -- i volunteered to be one of the models at a Portrait conference in Sacramento in 1995. It was a SPECIAL EXPERIENCE AND REMAINS SO HANGING ON MY WALL. And at the 2000 Portrait Society in Washington D.C, I had him sign my books of his -- he said; "YOU look familiar". I reminded him of the Sacramento conference. I am sure there was a rolladex invisible head of all the portraits over his lifespan. He lives on in those memories and on his instructional videos. Thank You Daniel Greene for sharing Your skillful instruction and methods in portraiture. You were LOVED!!

I studied with Dan at Studio Farm in North Salem, where we were neighbors. My two daughters, Deirdre and Sheila Rhatigan posed for classes as well. They received portraits by him before going off to college, which we treasure! He was a gentle, kindly soul who knew his business! It was a pleasure to know him, and Wende. He left a rich legacy!

I attended one of his Portrait workshops in 1995 in Sacramento. The 1st evening he asked who would like to model-? A Man with a Cowboy hat volunteered. Daniel created àn amazing portrait before our eyes. Before the evening was over , I asked if I could model the next night? "Of Course" ; he said. So, the next evening demonstration I was the model. Over the following two+ hours Daniel taught the group as he produced a Pastel Portrait of me. A VERY SPECIAL EVENING AND FOREVER A MEMORY. In 2000 I attended the Portrait Society of America conference . I had Daniel sign a few of his books for me. He said; "You look familiar". I reminded him of the Sacrameto conference modeling.
Daniel Greene was an EXCELLENT ARTIST AND GENEROUS, ENCOURAGING ALL TOWARD SUCCESSFUL SKILLS . HIS BOOKS AND VIDEOS REINSPIRE ME STILL. AND I feel LUCKY to have my Portrait. THANK-YOU DANIEL GREENE.

I am so sorry Mr. Greene has passed from this early scene into eternity. What a wonderful man and a consummate teacher. I was fortunate enough to have been his last student in 2019. He did not know me at all, yet agreed to be my practicum teacher. I will always love him for that. Mrs. Caporale-Greene, remember what a wonderful man he was, and know you have my sincere sympathies . Rest in Peace Daniel E. Greene.

Daniel Greene was a legend in the art world long before I entered his studio as a student. He was as brilliant a teacher as he was a painter. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him personally as well as the art world in general. God blessed him with an enormous talent that he graciously shared with so many. May he rest in peace.

Daniel was an extraordinary teacher.
As a five time student, his techniques and color palette helped my career tremendously and I still talk about class in the barn to my students.
Sincerely grateful,

I met Daniel in the summer of 1991. Where my mom, Madeleine Smith Moriarty, was a student from 1987-2000. I modeled & say in for a Hawaiian client that could not be in the North Salem, NY studio to pose. I also babysat for Avignon but she was probably to young to remember! I always enjoyed his workshops. The fat labs drinking water from bowls on the stairs that would sometimes sit in a models view and make us chuckle. His evening workshops were the best because the lighting and mood was just right to get to know the artist. I've always hoped that I picked up some talent and tidbits from his lessons. Wanted to go to a workshop in the future because my mom was the master oil painter. But his videos are just as good as being there with him at the workshop. I hope his family knows his legacy will live on in each and every student that has seen his work or learned a lessons from him. My mother passed away recently too. Two days before mother's day. So I know it can be hard to go through. But remember the good times and cherish them. I would like to send this gift of Wende Caporale-Greene that my mom, Madeleine Smith Moriarty, the artist created at Daniel Greene's studio.

My heartfelt condolences to Wende and the family and friends of Dan. I was a student and classroom assistant of his in the early 90s, and his teaching changed my art career for the good. And I found him to be as fine a person as he is an artist, if not more so, and that says a lot. He is always on my mind when I am at the easel. R.I.P. Vince Ornato, Pittsburgh

Enjoyed meeting Daniel at the last Portrait Society Conference after years of following his career in Art. It was a thrill for me and I enjoyed his talk at the conference, with his wife Wende. Condolences to the family.
