HAHNE Daniel August Hahne, 91, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Oak Tree Villas. He was born December 18, 1915, in Draper, South Dakota, a son of the late August and Maria (Wilkes) Hahne. He attended school in Herman, Missouri. On August 19, 1939, he was united in marriage in Steelville, Missouri, to Elsie Benz, who preceded him in death on July 30, 2005. He was a longtime farmer and operated an excavating and trucking company in the Stoney Hill, Missouri area. He was a Merchant Marine and served in World War II. Mr. Hahne enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid card player. He is survived by a son: Donald "AJ" Hahne of Jefferson City and one sister: Ella Schalk of Owensville, Mo. He was also preceded in death by his twin sister: Marie Groppe; his sisters: Emma Sanborn, Clara Richards, Louise Remillard, Anna Kuebler and his brother: John Hahne. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Stephen H. Buchholz officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
