Daniel Albert Heron

It is with deep sadness that the Heron family mourns the sudden death of Daniel Albert Heron, affectionately known as "Danny". He passed away on Tuesday, August 27th in San Diego, California, where he had resided for the past five years. He was the youngest beloved son of Irene (nee Giguere) Heron and the late Francis X. Heron; brother of Stefanie Heron Birl (Jason), and Francis X. Jr; uncle to Harrison, Quinton and Auguston; and survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Danny was born on December 19th 1983 and raised in Media, PA, where he attended elementary school at Nativity BVM. He graduated from Cardinal O'Hara High School. He spent many summer vacations in Ocean City, NJ with family. He was employed by Drummond Scientific in Broomall for ten years and moved to the San Diego area in 2019. He worked there as a machine operator and enjoyed the beach and playing his guitar and drums. He loved working on his pride and joy, his Subaru WRX. He often came back east to visit, usually at Christmastime.

Sadly, Danny had struggled with addiction for almost twenty years. Although he had multiple stints in rehab, Danny had difficulty maintaining long term sobriety. Addiction is a terrible disease. The struggle to stay clean and sober is truly one minute at a time.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 19th at 11:00 AM at Saint John Chrysostom located at 617 South Providence Road in Wallingford, PA.

Visitation begins at 9:30 AM and to be followed by mass at 11:00 AM and a lunch at Springhaven Country Club. Interment will be private.
