My name is Lynette Miller. My mom had a half brother by the name of Gerald Holman. Is he your grandfather? I have just lately been looking for info on my cousins. I grew up in Kelso Wa and had an aunt Lois McDonald (moms full sister) wholived in Seattle. We would go up to visit and often times go to Renton to visit the Holman family. Gerald, Laura, John, Dan, Jerry, Laura and Peggy. All the kids except for Peggy were older than me. I will be 68 in a couple of weeks so am thinking your dad is one of the family. Sorry I am rambling on. Could you please email me at [email protected]. Im not so great on doing this type of communication so email would be the easiest. Again I am Lynette, my mom was Elacine Cuffe, her full sister was Lois, Gerald was their half brother and his sister was Martha, all from the Butte/Walkerville area. Thanks

GREAT GRANDPA AND MALIA

It is with great sadness that I have learned of the passing of Dan Holman, my first cousin. My lasting memory of Dan was from a visit to Renton in 1956, with my family, from Helena, MT. Dan and Delores were dating - Love was in the air and even a 12 year old could sense it. My deepest sympathy to Delores, her children and grandchildren. Arlene Davis Murphy, Oak Ridge, TN

One of my favorite memories... New Years Eve 1998, out on the boat watching fireworks under the space needle...

Uncle dan gave me my first smore, taught me to catch my first salmon, and showed me he was the toughest guy around by actually scaring a bear up a tree. I have sooo many great memories at the ocean and out on our boat. He made me smile by simply walking into the room. He was simply one of my favorite people on the planet. I feel sad for those of us left behind, but i'm not sad for uncle dan, he's at peace. Auntie dee, nancy, mike, and danny, I love you and I'm so sorry you're hurting.

Uncle Dan,

I will miss you. You always carried yourself with incredible strength as well as grace. You lived the kind of life I aspire to have. Thank you for the laughs through the good times and the support through the rough spots.

Auntie Dee- My heart goes out to you and yours.

Uncle Dan - you will truly be missed! We didn't get to see each other very often, but when we did you would always give me the biggest hug followed by a big smile and laugh. I remember how much it meant to Mark and I that you and Auntie Dee flew down to be with us for our wedding. You helped make that day extra special for us!
We wish we could be there with the family during this difficult time. Auntie Dee, Mike, Danny and Nancy - I am thinking of all of you and keeping you in my prayers! With Love, Kristin, Mark, Logan and Jenna

Dan was a wonderful friend and neighbor, who always had a smile on his face and a ready hand to help with whatever chore was in the works. He will be greatly missed. Shari Jones and Dale Crumrine

I started working for Dan as an 18 year old kid at Craftsman Press during the next 17 years Dan was my teacher, my mentor and my friend. I carried with me throughout my 42 year printing career the lessons learned from Dan, both about printing and life in general.

Dolores I'm sure that you can remember all the late night calls to Dan with question about press problems, and every time Dan would just calmly go down a list of solutions. Little did I know that I would be getting the same late night calls from my press operators later in my career and I tried to answer the same way. Thanks Dan.

My deepest sympathy to Dolores and family he will be missed.

Dan always had a smile on his face. I met him when I worked at Craftsman Press in the mid-80's and enjoyed his warm and caring friendship and remember how much he like to fish. Adios, Dan.

Farewell Dan, you were one of the best. I had the priviledge of working with Dan at Craftsman Press for well over 20 years, first as an Auditor from The Accounting Firm used by Craftsman and then as a fellow officer. My position required me to demand a lot, at times, from all of the Department Heads and Managers and Dan was exceptional in is knowledge of his duties and of all those who worked under his direction. His expertise and 100% willingness to always strive to meet our mutual objectives to better the operations of the Company will always be greatly appreciated by me. He met every challenge, know matter how difficult, with a smile and a spirit of cooperation. Dan was a born leader and always carried himself with dignified authority mixed in with lots of great humor. I wish I had had an opportunity to know Dan on a personal basis outside of our working environment. I'm sure that those who were fortunate enough to have been close to Dan will indeed miss his presence. Dan, you gave it your all and worked hard. Now enjoy your well deserved rest.
