Daniel Lean Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 14, 2025.
Dan Lean, age 69, of Gig Harbor, Washington, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 3, 1956, in Tacoma, Washington, Dan's life was marked by strength, humor, determination, and an unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community. He faced his recent health challenges with remarkable calmness and a positive attitude that truly stood out.

For 40 years, Dan owned the Beach Tavern in Tacoma, where he built countless new friendships alongside an abundant circle of friends, many from childhood. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, boating, and snow skiing. In his earlier years, baseball was his passion. He loved sharing stories-oh, the stories he could tell.

Dan was an exceptional husband, father, brother, and friend. A kindhearted, generous, and caring man, he devoted his life to those he loved. His relationships were an integral part of his life, with each one holding a special place in his heart.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie, who stood by his side for 38 years; his son, Garrett, of whom he was immensely proud; and his supportive and caring sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Doug Delmonte.

A Celebration of Life to honor Dan will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 - 2:00pm at the Waterfront Venue at Narrows Marina, 9007 South 19th St, Tacoma, WA.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and UW Medical Center-Montlake for their exceptional care and support.

Dan's legacy will live on in the lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

"He was a light in our lives, and his memory will remain forever in our hearts."
