Daniel Maxim Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 28, 2025.
Daniel "Danny" Maxim, 86, passed away last year on May 30, 2024 in Sacramento, California and is greatly missed.

Born in Grand Rapids Michigan, Danny called Arkansas and New York home before settling in Sacramento, where he spent the last four decades of his life.

Most mornings he wandered around William Land Park, fed a multitude of neighborhood cats, and then opened his garage to sit and watch the world go by -his friends and neighbors knew they could always find good conversation and a cold beer waiting. Danny enjoyed a good cigar and never missed an opportunity to "shoot the shit."

Danny is survived by his daughter Dani Maxim-Hughes (Don); his brother Larry Maxim and sister-in-law Phyllis Maxim; nieces Michelle Maxim, Melanie Maxim, and Debbie Lohan (Steve); nephew Don Sobzcak (Christine); great-nephew Kai Maxim; and great-nieces Leighana Browne and Briana Cranmer (Scott).

He was preceded in death by his domestic partner of 35 years, Joyce Echaide; his twin brother David Maxim; sister-in-law Barbara Maxim; parents Louise and Alva Maxim; and his really great dog, Kato.

A Celebration of Life gathering is being hosted by Phyllis, Michelle, & Kai this Saturday May 31, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM at William Land Park, in the GA14 Picnic Area (off of 15th Avenue between the Rock Garden and Fairytale Town).
