Dan and I had a very unique relationship as you may be able to see from my name. We thought it was so funny that we shared it. My first contact with Dan was while he was a DJ at KLIF and I found out his real name while being Charlie Brown on air. Anyway, we chatted back and forth and he was ALWAYS the ultimate gentleman, we shared some of the same life and political viewpoints and his wit was one of his best character points. I will so miss his banter and joyous postings about current events. He was the greatest and though i never met any of his immediate family, I can only imagine that they are a lot like him. Rest well dear friend and we will see you on the other side!

Dan and I became friends more than 50 years ago. We both joined The Stanford Agency, The Southland Corporation's in-house ad agency, in 1967. Dan was always one of the creative stars in the Stanford galaxy, which included advertising geniuses Bob Stanford, Howard Greene, Bob Peck, Dick Boone, Don Coburn, Mark James, Steve Patterson, and too many more to name. Dan was a quadruple creative and account contributor. He could conceive a commercial, write the copy, perform as the talent on the spot and then go out and sell the entire package to the client. He did it all. His incomparable talent was still evident in his clever and incisive FACEBOOK posts. Dan's exploring mind never stopped expressing, entertaining and enlightening. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
