Hello Steve & Jane. I am sorry that I was not able to know ya'll growing up, but after the funeral, I feel like I knew Mark. I greatly appreciated the remarks of those who spoke so highly of him. I just want you to know I am truly sorry this happened and want you to know that I am very proud of him and am proud that he was my first cousin. If it is possible, I would love to obtain a copy of the picture slide show that was playing at the funeral home. If so, please let me know. My email is '[email protected]' and my cell # is 601-917-9264. I hope there may be a time in the future that I could meet & get to know Steve as well. He has a lovely family. Sincerely, Debbie Pogue Boles

Although I do not know your family, I have been deeply saddened by your tragedy. Not one day goes by that I don't think about your loved one and his beautiful fiancee. This heart-wrenching experience reminds me of just how fragile life really is.
My heart goes out to both of your families. From all that I have read about Dr. Pogue, he seems like an amazing individual! It is apparent that he has touched the lives of many people! My thoughts and prayers are with your families during these difficult times.

Dear Steve,
I am so sorry for this loss to your family. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.I will always remember that bright smile and the mischevious ways of the younger Mark we all knew. I will also remember that his one goal back in the "old" MPL days was to become a DR. someday...way to go kid you did it when all odds were against you. This world could use a few more people who work hard to meet the goals they set for themselves. Maybe we should all take a lesson. With love and hugs.

Dr. Pogue was a very kind and special doctor. My family met Dr. Pogue when he cared for my mother at the Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Pogue became her primary doctor. Thanks to Dr. Pogue, her health is regulated and she is doing great. He will be greatly missed. I pray God's blessings to your family. I pray that you are comforted by knowing Dr. Pogue touched many.
God bless you all.

Mrs. Joiner:
I did not know your son or your future daughter-in-law, Lisa. Nor do I know the Irbys but I wanted to let you know how very sorry I am that you lost such a precious son and his precious fiance. I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling, or the loss. But please know that God will help you with that pain if you turn to Him. In all honesty, who else do we have to turn to in times like these that can really understand how we feel? My heart has been very heavy since the accident last Wednesday and I just wanted to let you know that even strangers are affected greatly by this tragedy. I am sure your son would have been a wonderful physician and would have helped a lot of people. But for some reason, unknown to us, God called him home. He and Lisa are in peace now and looking down on you with love.

Our prayers and thoughts are with Mark's and Lisa's family daily. Mark was an exceptional person. He always brightened our days with a warm smile and conversation when he was here with us in DeWitt. I was so looking forward to working with him when he finished in Mississippi. There is a void that cannot be filled now due to this tragedy. I pray that God lessens your heartache over time. Mark will always live in our hearts.
