Liz, we only had a distant friendship, but from the moment I first spent time with you and Dan, I was instantly at ease and attracted to you. Dan was a generous and sweet soul. My prayers go out to you, the kids, and all his family and loved ones who are hurting right now. He will be missed by many.

I remember wonderful years of working with Dan as well as trips to the lake and snow with the family. I will truly miss him as we have missed you and your family. Dan was like another staff member at Midwest Orthopaedics. Even though I am just the administrator and Dan did not need to deal with me about surgeries, he knew me (and most everyone here) and always stopped by my office to say hi and share an upbeat thought. We talked about family, being Catholic, the Snow Ball, looking for just the right location for his daughter's wedding festivities, enjoying his time at The Lake, his time with his family... he was just a really great person who could brighten your day just by saying "hi". My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this difficult time. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

Dear Pruett Family: My Dad found this in the paper too late for us to make it to the visitation last night, and I wasn't able to be off work today. We are so sad to see this. My Mother worked with Dan at Pruett Medical for over 15 years, and she absolutely loved him, and he her. I know she had a big hug for him when he joined her in heaven! I was fortunate to have first met Dan during high school as part of the great circle of friends who were worked over at Mt. Calvary cemetery during those hot Missouri summers. We had a great time then and for a number of years thereafter with numerous poker sessions in our basement, whiffle bay games, etc. He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. Our prayers are with his family.

Danny and I had a competition (NO, it was a rivalry!). We laughed and joked and even argued to determine who was Grandmother Pruett's ("MomPu") favorite. I always knew it was cousin Danny but I would not admit it to him until he was so very sick and I'm really glad I did. But he always knew all along. Danny was so much like his Dad. All the Pruett cousins will miss him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. We will have great memories of our lake boat visits to your martini deck for cocktails while our kids had a great time together.

Ah, Dan. I admired you from the first time we met, our freshman year. Even then, you were always kind and gracious. The world is a sadder, darker place without you in it.

I knew Dan from my wife who worked at Bloomingpails in Waldo years ago. A good man who my wife said was nicer than life. My Kathy died in 2009 and I realize those who go before us will greet those yet to enter into heaven.
May your family know that life is only changed not ended!

I schedule surgery for Midwest Orthopaedics and have talked to Dan on a daily basis for many years. He always came into the office with a smile on his face, always asking what he could do to help us.
