Remick, Daniel
MADISON - Born Feb. 22, 1948, with cerebral palsy, Dan was a hero to many due to his relentless advocacy for the rights of people with disabilities through many organizations such as People First, and the ARC of Dane County (Lifetime Achievement Award 2018).
Dan is survived by his proud siblings, Bob Remick, Becky (Ken) White, Pam (Bill) Schuster, Cheryl (Larry) Heiman, Mike Schott, Pat (Dawn) Schott; and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Gerald Schott.
Dan's family wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Options in Community Living for all your love, care, and support. Special thanks to Randy, Monica, and Emma, his long-term caregivers he dearly loved, and the many others through the years that cared for him.
Due to current COVID restrictions, the family will hold a memorial at a later date when we can all honor Dan together.

Dan was my oldest of four brothers( also have 2 sisters). Dan was an inspiration to all of us, and we are so very proud of him.
Dan went to Heaven on Tuesday January 5, 2021 It was sudden and mostly unexpected. We didn´t get to say goodbye but we know he is with us always and with those whose lives he´s touched. So, until we meet again, I love you Dan

Sending much love to all of you. Dan and I were good buddies for many years. We traveled throughout Wisconsin helping other self advocates in starting People First. Dan was a mainstay in many statewide conferences and meetings, speaking up to help people with disabilities live meaningful lives in the community. Dan will be greatly missed by so many people as he touched all of our lives. I am the better for having Dan Remick as my friend!

My dearest condolences to Danny's family. He was like family to us growing up. My family attended St James church and school. My parents, Mark and Terry Dorman would give Danny rides to church and other activities and he always attended my school events. Volleyball, band, plays and much more. He always made sure to tell me how proud he was of me and it was so great to have that loving support. He was such a light in my life growing up. Prayers to all family and friends during this time.
