He used to be my technology teacher when I was in elementary school at Gleason Lake. He also taught me, my brother and my sister, and we all loved him and appreciated him as a teacher. He was very patient and thoughtful. Cared a lot about his students and I had the greatest time in his class all throughout elementary school. we´ll miss him very much.

Mr roth had my favorite teacher since second grade, when I had first come to gleason lake. This was during the COVID-19 pandemic, and my first full year as his student in person was fourth grade. you could tell how much he really loved all of his students. there was a time where i was having a lot of friendship problems, and he could tell. he let me talk to him, and he helped me figure out a solution. thank you mr roth. rest in peace.

Dear Roth family,
I am so incredibly sorry to hear of Dan's passing. My very first year of public school was his first year teaching at Gleason Lake (1999) and I was so fortunate to have him as my teacher. He was easily, and will always remain, one of my favorite teachers in my entire time in the Wayzata district. As I'm sure many others can agree, my memories of him are kind, compassionate, approachable, funny and the most genuine spirit that made you feel so seen and valued. His kindness made such an impact on little 9-year old me, stepping foot into such a large school system that one could easily feel lost in - what an incredibly warm welcome I had, thanks to him.
Your family has my deepest condolences. Praying for peace that passes all understanding and comfort as you walk the months ahead.
With gratitude,
Kjirsten Becker (Lindell)

I didn't know Dan for very long and met him at Addiction Cycle Spin Studio in Medina. He was one of my favorite people to talk 'shop' with after we did a spin class. After reading the comments from some of his former students, his impact will be felt forever and his legacy in education will continue on as I'm certain there are people who became teachers because of him. Thank you Dan for your service to education. Godspeed! Polly Trandahl

I had Mr. Roth as my third grade teacher during his first year at Gleason Lake. Although my memories from 25 years ago are rather fuzzy, I remember him as a wonderful, kind, funny, patient, and creative teacher who was adored by all of his students. Love you Mr. Roth! My condolences to your family. I hope they find some small solace in knowing how he positively impacted many generations of his students.

Mr. Roth has had a lasting impact on me since my days at Gleason Lake. He was one of my favorite teachers and was always so kind and helpful. Started watching hockey because we watched Dino Cicarelli highlights. May he Rest In Peace

I´m so sorry for your loss. Dan was and will always be a treasure to our family. My boys had him as a teacher at Gleason lake and they both loved him dearly. As a parent I will never forget how he had such a welcoming presence and truly was an amazing teacher ect. My prayers are with you all in these very hard times.

Sharon and Steve,
I'm so sad to hear the news of the passing of your son Dan. Parents should not have to bury their children. It looks like he had a wonderful family and teaching career. How proud you all must be of him and his accomplishments. I will surely keep you all in my prayers.
