Without exaggeration, I can say that Dan Steeg was the most likable man I've ever known in this area. I wish I had gotten together with him more often in recent years. I have nothing but fond memories of our friendship. If there's a highest reward in the Great Beyond, nobody deserves it more.

To Dan's family.

Dan was a good friend, especially when my family and I moved here in 1968. He helped found my parish, St. Johns, and worked tirelessly to keep it financially sound in those early lean years.

Dan was my plumber. We played poker. I'm going to miss him.
