Dan,
He was the guy that was always laughing and the guy that always had a kind word when nobody else was there. He was my Dad´s best friend- they spent endless hours just hanging out and laughing. He was the guy that called to check on me when my Dad was gone just to tell me how much his missed my Dad. I am sure the two of them are together now looking for some fun! He was Danny and Vandy- I have never seen one without the other. He will always be cherished and so missed!

Dan was my cousin. As boys we were playing sandlot football. There was a quirky pass play where the ball was batted around several times. The play resulted in a touchdown for Dan´s team. Without missing a beat Dan quipped, we said in the huddle that we were going to do it that way. That was Dan. Always ready with a really fast and funny come back.
Dan was a very special man. That super rare person that everyone enjoyed being around. Although he lived in a different state for decades we all cried at his passing. He was everybody´s favorite.
Good man who lived a terrific life and was absolutely cherished by his family. RIP Cousin Dan

Dan was all kinds of "Good". He was full of life, joy, humor. He was so much fun to be around, loving, and kind.
We were all blessed to have known him. Praying for his family as they cope with their loss.

I was lucky enough to call this man, Dad. I remember growing up and the way women looked at him. One time we went to Wendy´s and this pretty lady started talking to him and gave him a paper with her number. I remember this because my Dad, only had eyes for my mom. We went back and laughed and told my mom. Growing up I was blessed enough to have a dad that showed me what it was to work hard for his family, while doing dishes and all the things he could do to help my mom. He was the greatest example of what a husband and father was. Having him as a father helped me choose a husband & father for my own kids. I went through several unhealthy relationships, knowing I couldn´t settle for anything less. My Dad touched every person he came in contact with.

The only thing that gives me peace is not seeing this gentle, sweet man in pain anymore. I know it was hard for him to have his wife, kids & grandchildren see him in pain.

You are free now Dad. We love you and will celebrate everyday! You are a legend and loved by so many!

Dan and I worked together at Church Engineering for about 2-years or less, where we both were employed as survey party chiefs. After licensure I moved on to other opportunities and we lost touch.

Dan was a very good surveyor, extremely loyal and diligent. Dan liked to have a good time, too; often poking fun at the new guys as a way to make them feel welcomed while establishing rapport.

If you were endeared by him, one of Dan's goofey things that he'd do that still brings a laugh was to put the devils horns behind his head while driving, and telling stories about the Catskill Mountains. There are a few other things he said for fun but are better left unsaid.

He'd start... "When I was in up in the Catskills", then he'd follow with something like "we ran that level loop all the way to the top and closed in one hundredth of a foot". The enormity of the impossible claim followed by his signature vocal characterization brought many a laugh and good humor to his friends.

While I didn't know he was a veteran, it doesn't surprise me to learn that he served his country. It was obvious that he was proud of this family and his loving wife. God bless to the family.

I only knew "Dan the Man" Stillion for a couple years while we were aboard the USS Ajax. I remember him as a fun guy, great athlete, often sitting back with his feet up on a desk reading a Louie LaMore Western! We had some great times! I only wish I could have known him longer!
RIP Dan! BTW, my son´s name is Daniel Lee!

I will always remember the drinks and stories shared in the back patio or in the living room, they will instilled in my memory and cherished forever.
