Daniel Strickland Obituary
Dr. Daniel J. Strickland, DDS, 71, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on September 24, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice after a brief illness. Daniel was born on April 13, 1946 to James and Katherine (Frazier) Strickland in Middletown, Ohio. He graduated from Middletown High School, and received both his Bachelor's and DDS from The Ohio State University. He married the love of his life, Janice C. Eisel on July 3, 1970 in Swanton, Ohio. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
Dr. Strickland was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and volunteered as an usher for many years. He was a passionate Ohio State fan and was active in the alumni association. He loved baseball, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a past President of The Toledo Dental Society.
In the aftermath of 9/11/01, Dr. Strickland volunteered at Ground Zero identifying victims through dental x-rays. He also did some consulting work for the Lucas County Coroner's office throughout the years, helping identify victims using dental records.
Dr. Strickland is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janice; children, Sarah (Eric) Glinski, Elizabeth (Jeff) Keith, Michael (Elise) Strickland, and Marcus Strickland; grandchildren, Oliver, Myles, and Kensington Keith, and Logan Strickland. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family are welcome for visitation at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) Friday September 29, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Saturday September 30, 2017 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church. Memorial contributions in Dr. Strickland's name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Ebeid Hospice. Online condolences may be made at

I was saddened to read of Dr. Strickland's passing, more so since I was just recently thinking about him and the other people I got to know and see daily when I worked for another doctor in the same building on Woodville Road way back in 1977. I have not forgotten about him after all these years, and feel blessed to have known this remarkable man. May God bless and be with you as you travel the journey of grief towards peace and heart-felt memories.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr Strickland's passing. He loved you guys so much!! Always talked about you for the 14 years I worked for him. I did get to see him two years or so ago for the first time in many!! I'm glad I did. My prayers are with you

Dear Janice and family. We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Dan. We have been family friends for over 40 years. Dan was a wonderful husband and father and served his community well. He will be missed by all who knew him.
