Daniel Torn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 9, 2025.

Daniel Wayne Torn, known affectionately as Danny or Danno, aged 59, passed away peacefully in Manor, Texas, on July 6,2025, after a brave battle with cancer.

Born on January 7, 1966, in Austin, Texas, Danny was the beloved son of Meta Torn and the late Paul Torn Jr

He grappled with cancer courageously, his spirit demonstrating the strength and determination that shaped his life. His fight was gallant, his journey arduous, but he saw through the battle to the end, embodying the saying 'he fought the fight, he finished the race.'

A proud graduate of Manor High School, class of 1984. Danny was known for his strong work ethic and versatility across several fields. His extensive career spanned the electronics industry, construction heavy equipment, Arborist services, and machine operations.

Despite his dedication to his professional life, Danny's true passion was fishing. His love for the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the catch was unmatched.

Although preceded in death by his father, Paul Torn Jr, his sister Lynda Troutman, and his brother Tommy Torn, Danny's memory and spirit will forever be cherished by his surviving family. He leaves behind his loving mother, Meta Torn, his sister, Barbara Newlin, his brother, Paul Torn III, and Justin Newlin. Nephews Chad, Paul IV and Richard, Nieces Krissy and Jennifer.

Known as a man of few words, Danny's quiet strength, determination, and love for his family and friends were evident in his actions. He was a pillar of support, and his wisdom was sought after by many. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

In remembering Danny, let us not forget his love for life, his dedication to his work, and his deep affection for his family and friends. His journey may have ended here on earth, but his spirit remains with us - in the rustling leaves, the gentle rivers, and in every fish that leaps from the water into the sunlight.

Daniel Wayne Torn, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend bravely finished his race and will forever be missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace and may his love for fishing forever ripple through the waters he once explored.

I don´t know this world without Danny in it. He´s been my true friend for my entire life. He was a couple of months older than me so when I say we grew up together I do mean we did. Playing in the same play pen. Learning how to read and write. All of us together at Nana Jackson´s and Aunt Thelma´s, together with chicken pox, breaking arms, learning about life. Learning how to drive and first kisses. Danny has always had a big portion of my heart and he takes that with him. It was too soon. I´ll love you forever and a day. Love, JuneBug

I am so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Danny. He was a brief but instrumental mentor in my life. I worked a couple of years with Danny at White Construction Company. He taught me much about the construction industry to include heavy equipment operation. Looking back, on my time around him, he taught me a lot about life and specifically being a man. I will cherish the memories that I have of him, especially, him calling me "little Timmy "may God rest his soul and also provide his family with eternal peace.

Danny grew up across the street from my in-laws and he and my son, Trey, became life long bosom buddies from a very young age. Danny would give you the shirt off his back and come to help when you called. They don't make them like Danny anymore. I will miss him very much. My heart goes out to Meta and the rest of his family.
