Daniel Welch Obituary

Daniel Welch, 9, of Midland, died Monday, November 9, 2009. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 13, 2009 at Stonegate Fellowship with Reverend Patrick Payton, officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Daniel was God's angel and instrument that He used to teach so many people many things about His limitless love, capacity for compassion and foundation of faith. Daniel had an attitude that revealed his independence even as he became dependant on others. He was such a great joy and blessing to all who met him. Every one of us has trials and joys in our lives; Daniel taught us that God is always there to reach out, put His arm around you and walk with you through the hard times. Daniel will be sorely missed. Survivors include his parents, Steven and Ofelia Welch of Midland; brother, Steven Welch of Midland; maternal grandparents, Natalio and Anita Bustamante of Andrews; paternal grandparents, John and Sharon Welch of Midland; five uncles, Victor and wife Pat Bustamante of Andrews, Natalio and wife Sayda Bustamante of Andrews, Pat Welch and wife Sarah of Midland, Andy Welch and wife Barbara of Amarillo, Charles Welch of Midland, and aunt Estela and husband Ismael Alvarez of Andrews and numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stonegate Fellowship Special Needs Ministry, 6000 W. Wadley, Midland, TX 79707. Our hearts go out to each of you. You fought the good fight and stayed faithful to the end and really the end is only the beginning. Today Daniel runs, laughs, and is constantly amazed at the wonders of his new home. He'll never know sorrow and I bet he hasn't stopped smiling since he got there.
