Daniel Weldon Obituary
AGE: 85 ? Old Bridge
Daniel Weldon, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at home. He was 85. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he lived in Rockaway, N.Y. before moving to Old Bridge in 1954.
Prior to his retirement 23 years ago, he was a mason for the Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen Local 5, Bordentown for over 40 years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge, where he was a member of the parish St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was also a member of the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus, and was an avid fisherman.
He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Fitzgerald Weldon, in 2009; and a son, Timothy, in 2001. Surviving are three sons, Daniel of Orlando, Fla., Terrence of Freehold, and Michael of Methuen, Mass.; a daughter, Ellen Shannon of Sayreville; seven grandchildren, Regina, Holly, Jane, Mary Ellen, William, Shawn, and Shannon; and a great-grandson, Daniel.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6 at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7 in the funeral home, followed by a 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Church, Old Bridge.
