Danny Elkins

Danny Elkins, born on August 27th 1943, met his heavenly father on March 20, 2025. He would like to be remembered for his service to his country and his devotion to his family.

Danny leaves behind his spirited children: Donna Roush (Glenn), Jessie Gwyn, and Dale Elkins (Lin). He made an everlasting impact on the lives of his grandchildren: Crystal Harville (Angela), Bethany Erickson, Rebecca Sexton (Vince), Sarah Gwyn, Carson Roush (Savannah), Thomas (Kim) Jasper, Joel Jasper, Sammy Jasper, and Emalee Dewolde (Joshua). He was blessed with great-grandchildren: Seth Zaragoza, Geneva Sexton, Chloe Jasper, Zach Jasper, Brookyln Jasper, and Addison Dewolde.

Danny met the love of his life, Margie, in his native town of Knoxville where she worked at a soda fountain. They married on Christmas Eve at just 17 years old and would continue to love and challenge each other for 64 years.

Danny enlisted in the U.S. Navy, leading their family to San Diego before returning to Tennessee where he continued his career as a truck driver. In retirement, he and Margie fulfilled their dream of moving to the countryside in Pikeville where they found joy in rescuing animals.

The only thing stronger than Danny's will was his unwavering affection for Margie. As his body grew weary, his mind and wit remained sharp, and he never lost the look of youthful admiration for the woman who never left his side.
