Lance Cpl. Daniel Morgan McVicker, age 20 of Alliance, passed away Thursday October 6, 2005 in Karmah, Iraq. Danny was born December 27, 1984 in Alliance, Ohio to Mark McVicker and Carey (Wiley) Meissner, and was a lifelong resident. He was a Lance Cpl. in the U.S. Marine Corp, serving in the Security Division with Operation River Gate. Danny graduated in 2003 from West Branch High School where he was a member of the Young and Alive, Concert Choir and participated in various musicals. He was also the Assistant Warrior Chief for West Branch High School. He was a member of the First Brethren Church of North Georgetown. Danny enjoyed cooking, music and living life to the fullest with his family and friends. He is survived by his father, Mark (Irma) McVicker of Alliance, mother Carey (Bill) Meissner of Alliance, sister Mollie McVicker of the home, brother Eddie Ricci of the home, maternal grandparents, Chet (Nancy) Wiley of Ravenna, maternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Bingham of Pikeville, TN, fraternal grandfather, Morgan McVicker of Alliance, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Helen Wiley, and fraternal grandmother, Ina McVicker. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Mitchell Funkhouser of the First Brethren Church officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday with the family present from 1-4 and 7-9. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to First Brethren Church of North Georgetown, P.O. Box 114, North Georgetown OH 44665, or Atwater United Methodist Church, 6380 Waterloo Rd. Atwater, OH 44201.
