Danny Lee Scraper of College Station, TX passed away on Sunday, January 12th, 2025 at the age of 75. He was born on May 10th, 1949 in Fall River Mills, CA and was raised in Stillwell, OK.

Dan graduated from Stillwell High School in 1967 and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1972 before being commissioned as an officer in the United States Army in 1974.

He served in the Field Artillery during the first conflict in Iraq, Desert Storm, in 1991. In 1994 he retired after 20 years of service as a Major at Fort Sill, OK where he worked as an instructor in the officer's basic training program and was actively involved in the Kiwanis Club.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Scraper, mother, Dorothy (Scraper) Norris, and his brother, Ricky Scraper.

He is survived by his children: daughter Melissa Hurst and her husband, Derrick, and their children, Ainsley and Evelyn Hurst; and his son, Brian Scraper.

He is also survived by his wife, Maggie Scraper; his stepson, Brian K. Alg, and his wife, Mary Evlyn; and their children Juliana and Theodore Alg.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service held at Fort Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK on Monday, February 3rd at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the United States Department of Veteran's Affairs or Kiwanis Club of Lawton, OK in his name.
