Danny van den Broek

May 31, 1959 - October 9, 2022

63 years old

Danny, a very proud Dutchman, was born in Heerlen, Netherlands and grew up inSacramento, California.

Danny leaves behind wife Dana, son Danny (wife Jessica) van den Broek Jr., step-children Amber (husband Marcos Funes) Almeida, Taylor Damon, eight grandchildren; Danny 3rd, Dylan, Drake, Dean, Olive, Roux, Marigold and Theodore, mother Gonda Peggy van den Broek, brother Glen van den Broek, niece Kiana (husband Richard) Courtney, along with many nieces, nephews, family members and enumerable friends. He was preceded in death by his father Wim van den Broek.

Danny loved his family and was very proud of all his grandchildren.

Danny was a member of the Proctor and Gamble family for 35 years. He was a gifted mechanic and machinist. He was well loved and relied upon by his fellow workers. He will be greatly missed.

Danny lived his life with exuberance. Genuinely warm and generous. He was welcoming; always cheerful and friendly. He never went anywhere without running into someone that he knew.

Danny loved to travel and was always up for a new adventure. He and Dana went on numerous trips. One of the most memorable was a family vacation to Kauai. We have such wonderful memories of that time.

He enjoyed camping with family and friends. He and Dana took their trailer to various places.

For many years they went on an annual trip to Fort Bragg where they hosted a port party. Danny always preferred a wine glass over those tiny port glasses. The camping group always had a themed costume party.

One of his best costumes was a Pirate. He wore his attire into town and drew lots of attention with the tourists and locals.

Danny was always the life of the party.

He was an excellent dancer and even won a few dance competitions.Danny loved most types of music, but mainly rock and enjoyed going to concerts regularly.

He enjoyed a good cigar and bourbon aka "a burn" with his Burn Brothers.

And if you didn't know, Danny was somewhat of a classic car enthusiast. He had vast knowledge and interests in them, especially Chevys.

Ask Danny anything about a classic car and most of the time he would have an answer.

He was knowledgeable in just about everything. He always said "I know a little about everything and a lot about nothing".

Danny leaves a great void in the lives of those who loved him. Danny was truly one in a zillion.

There is so much more to say.

Please come and share with us all your stories of Danny as we celebrate his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 15, 2023 at :

I wanted to add, because I know it would have bothered Danny. He always considered Amber and Taylor as one of his own. He never once called them his step-children. They miss him so much
He was such a great father to the both of them

Thank you for willingness to teach me in all that you do. I can´t imagine how your sidekick is doing without you. You left us too early Danny, and I´m mad at you for that. We all laughed and joked with you, we all enjoyed the trouble shooting of the major problem together even repairing was all fun because of you...What are we going to do now? There is such a large void we are dealing with. You are loved and missed and it´s not fair at all.

See you on the otherside Danny.
