I remember being served cookies and tea at Daphne's house in Dover after a long, cold walk with my dear friend, Daphne's youngest daughter, Phyllis. I have such a distinct memory of this beautiful, gracious, impeccably dressed 90ish woman sitting in a corner chair near her glassed in patio full of plants. I was cold and hungry and the warmth of her house and her kind and welcoming presence plus her gift to me of my friend Phyllis are things I will always be grateful for.

Di,
So sorry for your loss, but making almost 101 is amazing. I showed Ethel the newspaper photo and she went, "Wow doesn't Di look like her mother!" Thinking of you and will see you in May. with sympathy, Anne

Dear Phyllis,
My heart aches, to hear that your dear Mother has passed away. 100 years is quite a milestone & from reading her obituary, I see that she filled her years with many interests and accomplishments. I have heard you speak of your Mum, on several occasions, with such love in your voice. Losing ones Mum is extremely difficult & so I am sending you my deepest Sympathy Phyllis. I know you will miss her greatly & it will take a long time for the sadness to ease up a bit. Pat & I send our deepest condolences at this difficult time.
Hugs to you my friend. ❤
