Darah Gusul 1958-2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darah Kent Gusul (aka Gus). His Funeral was held January 14, 2015 at Lee's Funeral Home in Regina.

He had a long career in the Automotive Industry where he kept up his education in our ever changing times. He had no plans whatsoever to retire

Darah was fortunate enough and loved traveling. He was very generous in inviting his family to go along with him. He attended many Nascar events in the US with his best friend Dave Nickel. Darah loved his dogs and loved his family. He was very fortunate to find his life partner Christine Acoose . Together they raised their son Gregory and built their lives as one joyful unit. Darah will be missed by all his many friends and family. Darah was predeceased by his mother, Joyce Gusul and his niece Holly Rhinelander. Belated condolences and sympathy to Darah's family. I'm so sad to learn of Gus's passing. I only knew Gus for a short time through work while I lived in Regina many years ago, but from our mutual respect grew our friendship. We lost touch when I moved to Alberta and then Ontario, but I always thought I would try to reconnect if I got back to Regina. My fondest memories of Regina include some epic adventures with Gus. A road trip with him as our designated driver in a conversion van to Minot North Dakota, only to arrive as the state fair was closing. I remember a speeding ticket, I don't think he ever paid, and a few bars along the way, and on to Plentywood. Gus making sure the rest of us got there safely. Another was a weekend of houseboating, more than a few drinks, and waking to AC/DC blasting away. Many, many lunches that started as business, but conversation always drifted to anything and everything. Gone too soon, rest in peace my friend.

This one hurts. Once in a while in this hectic life you look back to see what old friends are up to. This is not the outcome I expected when doing so for Darah. One of the original Madhatters (with John Burton and Harold Peters). Hours spent in the econoline van discussing our futures and listening to BTO - Taking Care of Business. A great friend at a great time in life. A tear is shed this morning. A glass of wine poured tonight in memory of that all consuming smile and laughter. Blessed to have had him in my life.

My belated sincere condolences to Gus's family. I was thinking about Gus today, only to find this sad news. In high school he and I (with Harold Peters & Frank Quo Vadis)were almost inseparable, cruising in his old econoline van.Great memories that always had Gus at their core. You will be missed my friend, and you will be remembered always. Burt

I have many good memories of Darah and all the Gusul family. Our families lived beside each other on Wesley Rd. for many years. Our mothers were great friends and I spent many a childhood day playing with all the kids who were my friends. I am so sad to hear of Darah's passing and would like to pass on my sincere condolences to all of his family.

My condolences for your loss. I only got to meet Gus a few times but I could tell he was a very special man and loved his family enormously. Be kind to yourselves and know grief is a moving river and you will get to shallower more manageable depths in time.
