Missing the light that accompanied your presence when you entered a room. But, most of all we miss the light you brought into our family. Today marks 3 months and 4 days of your absence.

Darius was my 1st cousin once removed and his mother, Nikki Lecompte, is my 1st cousin. I have not seen Darius since he was a little boy. My heart breaks for his mother, sisters, aunt, uncle and grandparents. My sincerest condolences to my Lecompte family from Kim Lecompte, daughter of Linton Lecompte.

Wonderful memory of Darius as a happy toddler.

Twenty-one days have passed since your beautiful smile was taken away from us, never to be seen again. It is still unimaginable and unbelievable. I treasure the short time we had you with us. I am so thankful that I moved back to Texas to have a few years to watch you grow from a teenager to a young man. You always filled us with laughter and had so much promise ahead. I know that you would have accomplished your dream to complete your education and training to become a dedicated, passionate and gifted physical therapist. Our last phone call is so bittersweet. Thank God that I had a chance to talk with you on that fatal night and know that our last verbal exchange was a mutual expression of love.

I can't find the words to express how much I miss you right now Darius LeCompte. Everything is reminding me of you. I've never been a crier, but I don't think I have any tears left.
You were my first child and I am so proud of the man you became. I keep thinking it's not fair that the world will not know what a beautiful person you are.
My only comfort lies in knowing you are with the Lord. I know this from all of the lives you touched. Your friends' memories of you brought a smile to my face, because I know that we raised you right.
I am praying that people will come forward and justice will prevail. I'll love you always.

To our Dear Godson,
There never was a dull moment when you were around! You could light up a room just entering into it! Were grateful for the years God blesses us with you! You came into our lives and taught us that despite us not having our own children we could love and raise them! You never made us feel like anything less! We needed you more than you needed us! God has shined on you your entire life and we thank Him that we were able to be in the presence of an Angel! Youve got youre wings now baby and were so grateful for the loved you showed us daily! Until we meet again thanks for being our angel! Love you and miss you more than words can say!

Please accept my heartfelt condolences to the LeCompte family and friends for the passing of your dear loved one. When someone we love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure in our heart and it lives forever. May the wonderful treasures fill your heart with love and bring you peace. One day many will have the opportunity to live again. May the hope of everlasting life sustain and comfort you during this difficult time (John 17:3).

We've never met lil cousin, but that doesn't matter. We are family and my heart breaks the loss to our family. You touched many lives and now you've touched mine. The Almighty Father has a great young man with Him. My baby brother Rodney is up there in Heaven too and he's around your age, just call out for "B" and I promise he'll hang and chill with you until we all see each other again.
To my cousin Nikki, God has you as well and I will keep you in my prayers. And although we have never met as well, I want you to know that I love you.
Love, Monique LeCompte-Riley

Darius was a God fearing, praying young man. He was known for being
a light and lived a Christian life. He was peaceful, calm, and wise
beyond his years. Darius loved and cared for everyone. He had a smile
that would light up any room. He was The Man of several homes and
had a Honey Do List at his Moms, Grandmas, Aunts, Cousins,
Papas and many other houses.
He was a charmer and loved to make the ladies smile. He was the life of
the party and made everyone feel like his very best friend. He made
everyone laugh hysterically. He picked on his siblings but would never
let anyone else hurt them. He was slow to anger and accepting of
everyone.
Darius was hard working. He started out cleaning horse stalls, pulling
car parts and took on all kinds of odd jobs. He stayed dedicated to his
work and was dependable. While working for the railroad at Union
Tank (UTLX) he earned 7 certifications and achieved the highest
ranking position in less than 3 years.
His dedication to education was also evident. While attending
Willowridge High School he was a special team captain with the varsity
football. He attended Blinn College and transferred to Texas Southern
University and was on their football team briefly before making a final
transfer to Prairie View A & M. Much of his college career he maintained working a minimum of one full time job while carrying a full academic load.
