Darius "Bubby" Allen Minor, 18, of Locust Grove, Va., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the University of Maine, during football exercises. He was born on February 9, 2000, to Charity Rena Wines. Darius graduated from Orange County High School and was an outstanding athlete in football, and enjoyed all sports, and his favorite artist "Drake". He was a first-team wide receiver and second-team defensive back on All-Central Virginia Football Team. Darius joined the University of Maine Black Bears, because he felt a kinship with the team. His family remembers him being always positive, smiling, and could make you laugh even in hard times, a great son, brother and human being. Survivors include his mother, Charity; brother, Cameron Wines; sister, Tyhesia Tyler (David); maternal grandparents, Lester and Nancy Wines; several aunts, uncles and other relatives. A Candlelight Vigil was held Monday evening, July 30, 2018, at Porterfield Park, 252 Montevista Ave., Orange, VA 22960. Visitation was held on Tuesday July 31, 2018, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Laurel Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at Life Point Church, Fredericksburg, Va., on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. Casketbearers will be Zach Sisk, David Tyler, Robert Otey, Kenyon Carter, Brandon Martin, Jordan Shook, Allen Wines, and Carl Johnston. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at laurelhillfuneralhome.com.
