My Daughter Sarah, who Darlene raised in her home along with her family, is I worked at the hospital, now has two boys of her own. I CAN't help but think how the lessons Darlene imparted to Sarah ste being passed down now. I miss her sunny smile, oh, how I would doubly treasure our afternoon Gabfest on her porch. I must be satisfied with the time we were given.

Darlene and I go back to 1963. We played together, fought together, had holidays together. We cooked, we set up camps, we ran around the neighborhood at night, we had some great times. I am so sorry her family and friends will be without her smile and enthusiasm. But, it is in our memories forever.

Dear Phil and family, I am so sorry to hear of Darlene's passing. We met year's ago at the Child Care Association meetings...it didn't matter if I saw her daily, monthly, or only once or twice a year, we always "picked up" just where we left off. Her bright sunny smile and personality was so uplifting...
always a pleasure to see and talk with her. Darlene was so proud of her family and of the children privileged to be a part of her life. I shall miss her...love and prayers to you all. Jackie (Noble) Hause

Dear Phil, Margaret, Logan and Mariah,
My deepest condolences to you. My first recollection of Darlene was long ago on the feast of St.Lucia when she was crowned in the Lutheran church near Forest Park. I was there with the Anderson family with whom my parents, Nick and Mirka Milatich, were friends. Many years later in the same north Everett neighborhood I would leave Mateo at your door. Walking daily down Grand I often chatted with Darlene coming and going. She was a constant fixture in my life in N.Ev. My heart goes out to all of you, and my memories of your wife, daughter, and mother reach far back. I know she is in a better place, at peace and will always be by your side. I am sorry I cannot attend the services, but word of Darlene's passing has reached me across the country. Such was her life and living...broad and deep and far reaching. My deepest sorrow for your loss, for our loss. Warmest regards, Sue (Milatich) and Mateo (Moore)

Dear Fox Family, I am so sorry to hear Darlene has passed, I truely loved her as a person and second mother to my children Danny and Debbie, I have held Darlene on a petisole, and have always said "the reason my children are the kind and well behaved children they are today is because of her foundation and rearing for them, I was a single mom at the time and she watched my children more hours in the day than I did and I couldnt have chosen a better woman! Im forever greatful for her kindness and Love she showed me and my children, You'll always be in our hearts. Love Corinne

Dear Fox Family, Although I didn't know your family, I have had the pleasure of the company of Logan down here in San Diego as my fraternity adviser. Just from spending time with Logan, listening to the wisdom he shared that was far beyond his years, one could tell that he came from an amazing mother and family. I know that my life is better because of the legacy that Mrs. Fox has left to all of us. Thank you.

I was heartbroken to hear the news, I'm 21 years old and just the other night I was telling my boyfriend stories I remembered from when I was 3 and one of Darlene's "kids". She remained a dear friend of the family long after my time as a "client". I have nothing but fond memories of being in her house and under the watch of her loving eye. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Fox Family, We are so sad to hear that her struggle has ended. We were so fortunate to have our children cared for by Darlene. She was so patient and kind and so caring and she had a wonderful smile. She was always excited to see Emilee and treated her as one of her own. We will always have fond memories. Emilee is now 21 and Jake 18. We will always remember the warm and larger than life person who cared for our children and will miss her.
God Bless you!

Phil,Mariah,Logan and family, What great blessing your whole family has been to both Sarah and me. I look back and see how Darlene took care of Sarah as if she were her own. I remember the long discussions Darlene and I had about our children, families, life, politics and faith as I would pick up Sarah as shining precious jewels that I will always cherish. Her smile was like sunrise, bright, warm and uplifting.
Thank you for letting us be part of your family.May God's love and strength be ministered to you through those who stand by you in the days ahead. We know that Darlene is watching over you and whispering in Jesus'ear, "Hold them close so that they can feel my love surround them with Yours.Love, Carol and Sarah

Thank you Darlene, from the bottom of my heart for caring for my son Sam. Your home was always warm, inviting, and welcoming to him. As years pass, he may not remember all of the wonderful things you did for him and the countless other children you cared for, but I will surely never forget!

Craig and I were devastated when Ivey emailed the sad news to us in Tampa.Darlene will FOREVER live in our hearts as one of the most determined ,kind hearted and spirited ladies that ever cared for our son Kyle. Regardless of all of Kyle's challenges Darlene always did the most to make us feel normal. We loved being there at the house to see her in her element. She was one of the chosen few that found her gifts and put them to work for the good of the MANY, LUCKY children that she cared for. Ivey has such wonderful memories of her Assistance League adventures and Darlene and Mariah are there to thank for that. Our hearts go our to Phil,Mariah,Logan. We especially send comfort to Margaret and Good Ole Uncle Gunnar who always had a smile. We will support the three day walk. God Bless you and bring you all comfort surrounded by the loving memory of Darlene. The Collette Family
