Darlene Ann GEHRKE

From the Gehrke and Roman Families, I extend our heart felt gratitude for the outpouring of love and compassion during this very difficult time. Darlene will remain in our hearts forever.

I'm so very sad to hear of Ms. Gehrke's passing. I am a fellow teaher at Cross Bayou Elem. She was a kind person and an amazing artist. My sympathies to you all.

Dear Cliff, Drew and Julia
I regret being unable to attend the memorial service for Darlene. However, I will always cherish the wonderful visit I had with the Gehrke family at Fort Knox. Darlene was an exemplar of the faith and she lived a saintly life consecrated to our Lord. She was Army Strong through and through. A wife, a mother, an artist, a teacher, and a disciple she was always loving, gentle and encouraging. Truly, Darlene was an instrument of the Lord's peace. You are each in my thoughts and prayers with much love.

Cliff, I am so sorry to hear of Darlene's passing. The joy is she is in our father's loving arms but I know you will miss her. You are in my prayers!

My thoughts and prayers are with Darlene and All of her family. She will be greatly missed.

Cliff... I was saddened to learn the news about Darlene. You were always a couple who really knew how to make a marriage work, based on love, honor, and mutual respect. There really are no words to describe such a loss for a loving husband and family.

To paraphrase Hebrews 12, Darlene "ran with perseverance the race marked out for her", and in doing so created a legacy of courage and grace under adversity which will remain forever with those who know her story.

This is a poem my young daughter, Mackenzie, wrote yesterday -

"We love you, Jesus,
With all our heart.
You are always here with us,
You laugh when we laugh,
And you help us when we cry."

You and your family will be in my sincere prayers, and I look forward to seeing you once again; if not Friday, then soon.

Darlene was a beacon of light! So talented with a great personality and humble soul. Our sincere condolences and prayers to the entire family.

My Heart is hurting so bad it's hard to stand. A piece of my Heart will forever be with Darlene in Heaven!!!! Love you Cliff, Drew & Julia.

Words can barely convey how saddened I was to hear about Darlene. May you and your family be comforted by the love & support of friends and loved ones. You're all in my heart, prayers & thoughts.

There are no words to say how sorry I am to see Darlene gone. Always a nice person in a world of not so nice. Drama was a blast back then. Thanks Darlene my heart goes out to her family.
