Darlene Kathryn Holtkamp, 90, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at home with loving family. Born February 28, 1933, in Nebraska, she was daughter of Eldo and Rosetta Chalupsky Hasley. On September 6, 1951, she married Douglas Wear. He died February 12, 1981. She married Arthur Holtkamp on February 22, 1985. He died September 13, 2020.
Darlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at Staats before retirement.
Survivors include her children Lawrence (Sindy) Wear of New London, Dale (Becky) Wear of Green Cove Springs,FL, Steve Jenkinson of Muscatine, Jerry Graber of Washington, Randy (Beth Garrison) Holtkamp of Sequim, WA, Jay (Rhonda) Holtkamp of Ankeny, Gary Holtkamp of Branson, MO. 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Mary Hasley, Anita (Ed) Blindt, Geraldine (Don) Conrad, and brother-in-law Tom (Dianne) Holtkamp.
Besides her first husband, Douglas, and second husband, Arthur, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Eldon, two daughters Carolyn Graber and Diane Jenkinson, and daughter-in-law Bonita Holtkamp, and granddaughter Nicole Mall.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 11th at 9:00 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Rev. Paul Connolly as celebrant. Burial will be at the St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A memorial fund has been established. The Olson-Powell Chapel and Crematory is caring for Darlene and her family.
