DARLENE MARIE KUNKEL
She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Clifford Kunkel and a sister, Mary Schmalstieg Dillon of Odem, TX.
Darlene is preceded in death by a sister, Sue Henderson, her birth father, Alvin Edmund Banse, her mother, Lillie Teltschik Schmalstieg and her adopted father, Edward Neal Schmalstieg, who raised her from the age of two after her birth father passed away.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 3-4 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10 AM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Marilyn Von Roeder officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3 PM at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Poth, TX.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Dillon, Ross Dillon, Tommy Henderson, Jr., Edward Heller, Paul Kunkel, Curby Ohnheiser, Vestine Nesloney and Norman Teltschik.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building and Grounds Fund, 407 N. Bridge, Victoria, TX 77901.

Cliff,
Know your days are very difficult now. Will always remember what a kind person Darlene was and how supportive you always were to her. Getting to know people like you makes our work very specials.

Cliff, You are in my thoughts and prayers. I worked with you at the zoo. I met Darlene at that time. She was a beautiful person. I certainly understand your loss.

Darlene was a sweet friend of mine and a Twice Blessed volunteer. We had a very special connection since we both are breast cancer survivors. She fought the dreaded disease for many years. I admire the quiet courage she protrayed. We were just together three weeks ago to participate in the FUMC Prayer Shawl Ministry. I will miss her and am so sorry for your loss and ours.

We will all miss Darlene's beautiful smiling face. Cliff, you are in my prayers and I am so sorry for you lose. She has gone home and is healthy and no longer suffering and for that, I praise God.
