I just learned about Darnell's passing. I had just talked to him a little over a month ago to talk about the death of someone else in the advertising/photography business. He was a great person, a great photographer and respected by his pears. We were friends because of photography. He gave me and others computer help and help with ASMP business forms. We also did a 20+ mile bike ride together about 10 years ago in the country west of Pittsburgh. It may have been his last ride of any length. I know he rode some around the city. After the ride He showed me a nice local spring and got me to stop at a good farmers market. He even lent me a car one time while mine was in the shop. My sympathy to all the family.

Jeanette,
My Deepest Sympathy for you at the untimely passing of Darnell.
I knew him in New York for many years at his studio,
until he moved to Pittsburgh.
We kept up a correspondence,
and he was always my dear friend and mentor.
My memories of him here are a constant reminder of what a good-natured and kind-hearted gentle man he was,
always, to everyone.

Jeannette,
My condolences. I was very shocked to hear of Darnell's passing. He and I were classmates and close buddies at Rochester Institute of Technology. Our lives took seperate paths however we had contacted each other and were in the process of arranging a meeting this summer. To my great sorrow this is not to be. I shall always remember Darnell.

So many years have come and gone, but the time spent with Darnell and his family (Mitchell & Davis) will stay with me the rest of my life. While he and his family lived in Cleveland for such a short time, Darnell made an impact that will last a life time for those of us who had the pleasure to know him.

Jeannette, I am so sorry to hear of Darnell's passing...this is such a shock. Darnell was a true friend and will be sorely missed. The time we spent building his studio has many special memories - I will also always remember my time as his assistant at Gateway Studios - he was patient, warm and funny, and we always kept each other laughing. I will treasure those memories always.
