Dear Darrell, we only met for a short time back in 2018 when I had the privilege to travel with your beautiful family. It was an honor to be part of your yearly family reunion. I wish we’d shared more stories. Its a blessing we were able to meet, coming from different parts of the world, entering eachothers lifes and leave such beautiful marks in our memory. Thank you for being part of that. Im sad we will not meet again. But you continue living in your children, also remarkable people with amazing personalities. Cheers and love from Amsterdam, The Netherlands/Holland. Sigrid

As a young nurse, I got on the elevator with an older man (maybe his wife too). He asked "Do you know Dr. Belcher?" I said "yes". He asked "Is he a good Dr.?" I replied "Yes". The elevator doors opened and he said proudly "That's my son" Later I attended a Christmas party at Dr. Belcher's home. He invited the OR and Recovery Room staff. I was in awe of the huge, magnificent house and was welcomed and made to feel comfortable. In reading his beautiful obit, I feel like he appreciated the material things he could afford and deserved after humble beginnings, hard work and much education. So very sorry for the loss of a great man/physician.

Dr. Belcher was such a gentle, funny, and very kind sole. He loved having a good time and enjoyed life. He was very special to all of the girls at Cuzs and we enjoyed waiting on him. He was a true asset to the area and he will be greatly missed.

I met Darrell through Princeton Community Hospital, where he was treating my mom-in-law after a fall. Our mom continued to be followed by Darrell or his fellow "orthopod" for years. Then I ran into him, again, when he started dating my 1st cousin-in-law, Regina. I can confirm that Darrell was a most congenial mealtime companion, whose conversation blended well into whatever the topic de jour happened to be.
I remember his affability and humor, and his gift of accepting a 'foreigner' like me [a Kentuckian & bio-engineer] as friend and colleague. I miss you, Darrell! Be at peace.

Such a wonderful tribute to Darrell. He’ll
be missed by the many people who were lucky to have crossed paths with him. He gave us a “party” for not moving from WV. So much fun.

May his memory be for a blessing as we say “goodbye to a friend”!

Sorry to hear about Darrell's passing. My dad, Omer Mann was Aunt Faye's nephew and he was very proud of his cousins, Darrell and Danny. Because they had gone to college he expected me to do so as well and luckily I did. After graduation I was able to get my dream job and I have always said that I owe Darrell and Danny so much. I had the opportunity to tell this to Darrell last summer.

As for Darrell's humor: At lunch last summer when we were talking about traveling I mentioned that I had always wanted to get a motorhome when I retired. With a straight face and a deadpan delivery he replied, "DID YOU GET OVER IT?" I still hear that voice and it still brings a laugh and now a tear!
