Darrell Larsen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 17 to Dec. 24, 2016.
Darrell Dwight Larsen
Dec. 31, 1968 - Dec. 11, 2016

Darrell Dwight Larsen -- (a.k.a. Doobie), 47, a"big-hearted amateur comedian" of Oakley, Utah -- passed unexpectedly on Sunday morning, Dec. 11.

Darrell is survived by his wife Brigitte Larsen (Price Family of Park City), daughter Elizebeth Dylan Fisher (Fisher Family of Oakley and Son-in-law Jamie Potts), daughter Haulsey Larsen (Greg Anderson), son Porter Larsen, mother Betty Ann Larsen, father Jack Larsen and brother and sister-in-law Marty and Theresa Larsen and family, among many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Corey Larsen, Darren Fisher, Race Price.

He was born Dec. 31, 1968, and raised in Oakley, Utah. He graduated from South Summit High in 1987 where he was the adored class clown and accomplished athlete. Darrell attended Dixie College, making lifelong friends. In 1991, he married the love of his life Brigitte, and they had three amazing children.

A true family man and mentor to countless kids he coached over the years, "Doobie" was always on hand to help anyone who needed him. The "Cool Dad" was always willing to be the chauffeur, hung Christmas lights for his mother-in-law every year and was referred to by many as the "Baby Whisperer." Besides his family, he loved collecting sports memorabilia, being the No. 1 Dallas Cowboys fan and rocking out to Tesla.

Darrell had a sense of humor for the ages, and his sharp, dry wit always kept everyone laughing. He was also a gentle and sincere soul who made his family and those around him better. The void left by his passing is immeasurable. Darrell will be profoundly missed.

Please join in celebrating a great life, Saturday, Dec. 17. Ceremony at 3 p.m. followed by an open house to share in memories and laughter. The Red Barn: Oakley Recreation Complex (New Rodeo Grounds) 4300 UT-32, Oakley, Utah 84055. The Darrell Larsen Memorial Fund has been established at Mountain America Credit Union. Doob you will be greatly missed. Your laughter and joy will always be with us in our hearts. Great memories growing up here in the small town of Oakley. You have plenty of friends that will be looking over your family in this time of sorrow.
It was so peaceful to see everyone and all of the love and friendship that came together to give their condolences to you at your wake last night.

What a super nice guy Darrell was . It didn't matter when you saw him he always had a smile . When i was friends with Marty and he was a young pup or later on in school when he was hanging out with Darren so much . And even later on when he was up to the school doing something with Haulsey or I might see him at the card shop. One day my wife and I was in Oakley visiting One of her friends and he was in his yard so I went over and talk to him he was smiling or it could even just be at Walmart .And it didn't matter if you seen him three times in one year or one time every three years he always made you feel super cool and like he was excited to see you . Just a really really nice dude I am super sorry to hear this news , my heart goes out to all his friends and family. My sincere condolences .
