Darrell Shaw Obituary
Darrell Ephraim Shaw, age 86, of Sheffield, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012.
Visitation will be Saturday 5-7 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Sunday, 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Barrett Long officiating. The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Shaw grew up in Summershade, Ky. and moved to the Shoals area in 1961. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and retired in 1983 from TVA as the Assistant Power Plant Superintendent of Colbert Steam Plant. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ephraim and Nancy Shaw; sisters, Barbara, Elva and Bessie.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Louise Shaw; sons, Jim Shaw and wife, Paula B. Shaw, Dennis Shaw and wife, Deborah O. Shaw; grandson, Johnathan Darrell Shaw and; sister, Edith Bailey.
Pallbearers are George Terrell, Dewey Willingham, Sammy Richardson, Tony Rutledge, Bryce Tidmore, Chesley Malone, Theo Hannah, John Elliott, Jerry Wages and Ray Balch.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. John P. Mims and Joel Parker.
The family expresses heartfelt thanks to all of their neighbors and friends for their support and prayers during this difficult time.
