I just learned of Darrells passing . He will be missed greatly. He was the sweetest and most generous soul. He is with his beloved Brandon now. I think of you often and can not believe that you are gone.

My heart aches. I just learned of his passing recently and I'm still in shock. Darrell was one of the best people I knew. He was always willing to lend a listening ear and offer good advice. The world is a darker place without this kind soul. He was one of a kind and I will miss him dearly.

How many in life bring together fierce but modestly-voiced intellect, mighty-hearted recognition that life's mileage is always unpredictable but demands tenacity, and sweet whimsy? Darrell's too short life gathered all these gifts together. "Warrior poet", he once told me, is how he wanted to live. "Even a lawyer can be that, right?", he said. In the world of his Oxford-related friends, he was an anchor: always ready to listen, to encourage, to uplift. It is completely wrong --- but then, is anything about our mortal calendars right? --- that Darrell is gone so soon. Even though I'd not been in his direct company for more than several recent years, our telephone calls always inscribed me with his steadfast good heart. Onwards, wherever, brother Darrell. You've written your signature into the lives of many.

To Darrell's family - Just learned of his untimely passing from a friend in the movie biz. Absolutely devastated. We had dinner together in August and I counted on seeing him when I was back in town in January. We were roomies on the QEII on the way to Oxford and have been close ever since. I send you all my most heartfelt condolences. I know you must all feel, far more keenly than I, robbed of his love and warmth and more years with this truly wonderful guy. I'll miss him terribly. May you find comfort in tender memories of all the good years together.

Darrell was not just my boss he was also a friend and a mentor. He aided me in my career path, as well as provided guidance, motivation and emotional support, a real role model
Through my friendship with Darrell he taught me how to set goals and not just for me but also for my daughter Paige, who he was like a God Father to.
He helped us in so many ways and definitely was instrumental in many of the educational and occupational opportunities that Paige and I were given. Paige and I are forever grateful for his kind and caring ways and thank him for being the incredible human he was and a true gift to many.
