It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darren Patrick Chase on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the age of 56 years, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Darren was born and raised in Moose Jaw, SK. His childhood was characterized by a sense of adventure and zest for life. In 1995, he married Cheryl Porter, the love of his life. He was a devoted father to his daughter Alexis, whom he adored. Darren could do anything and knew something about everything. A true jack of all trades, he was dedicated to hard work and led a fulfilling career in the telecommunications field. His passions included computers, and fishing and camping, to name a few. He also loved to travel with family, having visited Hawaii, Australia, Fiji and the black hills of South Dakota.
Darren leaves behind his loving wife of 21 years, Cheryl; daughter, Alexis; mother, Marlyn (Gordon); father, Bill (Marlene); mother and father-in-law, Shirley and Charles; brother, Kevyn (Zoe); sister, Heather (Dan); nephew, Jean-Paul; nieces, Alyssa and Thea; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, great-nieces, and dear friends. A Celebration of Darren's Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit of the Five Hills Health Region for their compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Darren's name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation directed to Palliative Care, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2.
