In loving memory of a wonderful brother. I will love you and miss you always. I love you so much and I miss you everyday ! I just wish I had more time with you. You were taken to early and it breaks my heart that I couldn't do more! I will love you for ever! I just hope and pray that you and Mom are together and at

I was a friend and colleague of Darren. I enjoyed Darren's ironic sense of humour and admired his dedication to making math as understandable as possible to all his students. Both my sons respected and liked him. It is nice to see the comments of his students.

A great teacher and an even better person. Kind hearted and quick witted, he always had time for any of us who needed help. He had such an impact on so many of us. Our condolences to his family. Rest in Peace, Mr. Schwanke, you've earned it.

I have fond memories of Mr Schwanke from Revelstoke secondary school. He was a good teacher. Gone too young. Sending my prayers to his family.

I am more than honored to say a few words about my Uncle Darren.
Darren James Schwanke was a beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, and Teacher.
A niece couldn't ask for a better Uncle, as my uncle truly cared about the well-being of his loved ones, and people in general. My Uncle spent countless hours, and many years tutoring me in Mathematics, and he truly just wanted to see me succeed, and be happy. My uncle exuded the most beautiful of characteristics such as being honorable, patient, understanding, intelligent, hilarious, having fortitude, being thoughtful, displaying sensitivity, and expressing kindness to all.
My uncle was an amazingly gifted Teacher who could take the most complex concepts and simplify them in a way, where those concepts would be easily understood, and a deeper understanding would remain with you. My Uncle taught me so very much throughout the years, in so many ways, and I would love to honor my Uncle by becoming a Teacher as he has inspired me because of who he is and what he is. I always thought that he would teach my future children mathematics, and it saddens me that my future children will not be able to meet their Great Uncle but I will express the kind of man he was, and he will always be in our hearts, and never forgotten.
I have always been so very proud of my Uncle as he truly was and always will be one of the most beautiful people I have ever met, with a fierce mind, and a gentle soul.
I truly hope that he knows in his heart how much of a blessing he was to everyone that was touched by him.
My Uncle was such an integral part of the family, and he was taken well before his time, and it breaks my heart to have to let him go for now but I know that he is in peace, and that I will see him again in Heaven.
Until we meet again my dearest Uncle. I will love you forever, and ever. There will never be another like you.
Love Always,
Your Niece, Jenny.
